we loved the apartment and it had great views but to reach it you had to either walk along a very busy road with no pavement for the last 200metres then down 52 steps to get to it. It does say steps but to reach the apartment from the sea level the quickest way was up 167 steep steps to reach the road with no pavement. The one and only shop for basics ie bread milk etc was 400metres along this same road. We were told on the last day that we could have swam from the Hotel Argentinas beach bar so this important info was not in the Simply file and the rep never arranged to see us only appearing to give us the details of the departure time. Disappointing but we loved Dubrovnik and the bus to Catvat did stop on the busy road near to the apartment. The owners were friendly and it was a pleasant apartment .
Stayed at Sipa apartments for two weeks in Sept this year with my partner and we are both nearly 70 years of age. Need to know that the apartment C does not have a "wonderful view of the Old City of Dubrovnik", but a very nice view of Lokrum Island. Nice garden terrace if you are not being bitten by midges which were everywhere this year because of the unusually hot temperatures for this time of year. (30/31). Plenty of bedding offered and towels, but only one maid service in the middle of the fortnight stay. Shower curtain dirty and no shower mat to avoid slipping. Only two electric rings to cook on because of your ban of gas supply in the apartment (we were told). Apartment C has 70 odd steps to climb, plus steep drive to road. (Not easy particularly when carrying suitcases). There are 172 steps down to the road leading to the Old City. If you return by bus its a 40 min trip around the one way system and is infrequent especially during the evenings! The iron in the apartment is only a (blackened) travel iron. No instructions on the use of the washing machine or the TV. No dustbin facilities available. Extractor fan not working. Apartment C looked "tired" and was certainly not four star (to our understanding of that rating). The town of Cavtat and the Lokrum Island are both worth a visit, after the Old City of Dubrovnik.
Sipa apartments are fantastic, in a beautiful setting with full view o fthe sea. Lots of ameneties such as washing machine, plenty room and spotlessly clean. the owners are very friendly and left us groceries to welcome us. Dubrovnik is outstanding and we would certainly go back
