Ali Bey Resort

This place knows how to impress, with a beach, a waterpark and à la carte restaurants among its standout features.

The pool scene here takes in a huge lagoon pool and a waterpark with a section for adults and another for children. On the dining front, there’s a Turkish à la carte and a romantic seafood place.

The hotel’s location is spot on for exploring Side, which is only 5 minutes away by bus. Lots of people prefer to walk there, though – just head out onto the beach and enjoy the 25-minute stroll.

Excellent hotel

We visited the hotel in spring for a week and this is by far one of the best all-in family hotels I've been to. Excellent restaurant, spacious and luxury rooms, great location with pools and beach, very friendly staff. Very much recommended. More

Very nice service and perfect rooms

We stayed in the duplex suit with 2 kids. There were 1 bathroom in each floor. Amazingly well decorated and everywhere is covered with beautiful marbles. Overall staff working in every area were very polite, hard working and caring. Good entertainment team and shows as well. Food is very good including the buffets in 3 course. Especially I would highly recommend to have ala-carte lunches in the cafe by the beach. All around the hotel is covered with very tall pine trees and there perfect landscaping. Sea is very nice and perfect for kids with fine sand. It does not get deep as well. Quite Pool is covered with natural stone and it is absolutely stunning. We walked from the hotel beach to the famous Side Ancient city, it takes only 15 mins and you enter the city from the beach. This was truly amazing. More

Susie L,

Food is the big let down

I will start by saying that if this was a 4 star hotel then it would be getting an excellent rating, however with it being a 5 star and priced as such then it is distinctively average. The main reason for this is the food but I will get to that a bit later. Rooms - Our room was a good size and very comfortable. The balcony for us was unusable due to being quite small in size but also we had a tree that took up half of it! The bathroom was again a good size however personally I would have preferred a walk in shower instead of having to stand in the bath. This would have been OK if the shower was amazing but it wasn't, the pressure and temperature of the water varied each night and depending on the time. If you are tall be prepared to have to bend backwards to get under the water and then be prepared to mop the inevitable flood up off the floor! Garden/Pool - The gardens around the whole resort are spectacular and so well maintained. This leads to seeing a whole host of wildlife from lizards and owls to even hedgehogs! There are 3 main pools (silent pool which is adults only, main pool where the pool games happen and the activity pool which is usually empty). We spent most of our time at the main pool which is a very good size and also relaxing. It can get quite noisy from children playing but was never too much. The beach at this resort is beautifully sandy and kept very clean. Staff - All of the staff here have been very friendly and helpful, from the waiters/bar staff to the entertainment team. Even if you don't want to take part in any games the entertainment team will always stop for a chat and won't try to push you into taking part. After a couple of days the bar staff start to remember your preference for drinks and will bring them to you without needing to ask! Food - This is where the problems start to come and will explain why I haven't given an excellent rating! The main restaurant is where the food is let down, purely down to the variation of choice. After 3/4 days we noticed that things weren't really changing or if they were it was just very slightly. This is a shame because of the quality of the food overall was good but eating the same thing in the afternoon and then again at night gets very boring. Having paid for all inclusive we still found ourselves going to Side to eat in the second week as we just couldn't find anything to eat at the hotel. It would also be good of the hotel could create an adults only section within the restaurant as the rooms are very large and the sound of kids crying and screaming gets very tiresome when you don't have any of your own! The good points for the food come at the Mehtabe beach bar and the patisserie. The Mehtabe bar is classed as a snack and doesn't open until 2 but this is the best place to go for lunch as the food is a lot better and more choice than you get in the main restaurant. The patisserie offers a wide range of cakes and baklava which all look stunning and taste amazing. They also make crepes and waffles to order and have a subway style sandwich counter. Overall this hotel is short of being amazing which considering the price I paid is what I was expecting. With the setting and grounds that it is in it could be amazing but unfortunately needs some work to get there and to justify it's price tag. More
