The Ali Bey Side doesn’t leave a stone unturned. Firstly, it’s got a great location. The hotel is set on the beach and is just a 5-minute bus journey from the centre of Side.
Secondly, it’s got a first-class pool scene. In any other hotel, the large swimming pool, surrounded by sunloungers, would steal the show. But here, it’s eclipsed by a waterpark, where the chutes and slides have names like kamikaze and freefall.
Little ones are spoilt here. In addition to the ‘children’s paradise’ area of the waterpark, they can enjoy an impressive entertainment line-up, which includes things like scavenger hunts and sandcastle competitions
At mealtimes, there are 4 restaurants to choose from. The main buffet restaurant is designed in a 12th-century Turkish style. The breakfast, lunch and dinner spreads here showcase an A to Z of dishes. In the morning, for example, you can try everything from pancakes to fresh fruit. You can also eat in the hotel’s beach restaurant or pay a little extra to try the Ottoman Turkish à la carte.

We (2 adults, one 9yr old) stayed at Ali Bey for 1 week in July 2013, the place is fantastic, the rooms are very spacious and beautifully done. The food is amazing, the choice and the presentation is outstanding, the desserts you just can't get enough of. The surroundings were very clean and well kept. We spent most of our time at the Aqua Park, which our 9yr old thoroughly enjoyed, while we enjoyed the cocktails. The beach was beautiful. We found all staff very polite and courtious. The night time shows are brilliant, although not all in English but we really enjoyed the ones that were. The only down side was that there was no childrens buffet in 2013, and we all know how fussy kids are! BUT for 2014 they are putting a childrens buffet in the main restaurent. Yippee. Can't say enough about Ali Bey, would definately recommend it, hence we are returning again in June 2014 and we never go to the same place twice, enough said!!! (P.S take bigger clothes for the way home, you'll need them)More

Amazing resort, great for kids
Well better late than never... This review dates from our stay as a family of 4 ( 2 adults, 2 kids, aged 6 and 8) for 2 weeks at the end of June, beginning of July 2013. First of all, this is an absolutely amazing resort, sooo beautiful and luxurious !! Pure class !! Everything from arrival to departure was outstanding! Check-in : was very smooth and quick and efficient, we were offered a glass of bubbly which is always a great welcome after travelling 4 hours on a plane and 50 min in a taxi. We were also graciously offered an upgrade which was greatly appreciated. Thanks to Willy !! Rooms : one word : STUNNING !! 10 mins after being brought to our room by golf buggy we were welcomed by a bottle of champagne and a platter of fresh fruit ! Pools : great !! fantastic slides for young and old under the ever watchfull eyes of 2 lifeguards. Waiters coming around to bring you drinks and everyday at around 14h iced-scented towels were brought to you at the pool to cool you down. This was definitely a big favourite with the guests! Food : awesome !! and a disaster for your waistline !! themed nights, lots of variety, loads of fresh fruits and salads, fresh grilled fish, etc.... Fresh sushi made everyday in front of you. Kids animation : very nice accomodation for the kids club and very friendly staff, they had fun activities and the staff seemed very keen on the job. However, eventhough our kids are bilingual ( Enlish - Dutch) and have a fair knowledge of French, there were communications problems. Which is the only smallest negative in this resort, overall understanding of English is quite limited, same with French, most used languages seemed to be German and Turkish. It was a pity however, because the staff really bent over backwards to help you and you could see all the willingness in the world but not able to communicate, what a shame !! Still this is only the slightest remark on the hotel. Shows : very very high quality with shows that were also geared towards the children : the Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Michael Jackson show, Tarzan, etc... Overall : a really high class resort with care for every detail, also very kids orientated so an absolute must for families. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody and would love to go back again.More

Very nice hotel.
We wanted a very relaxing holiday for adults and that is what we got. The room was wonderful and the food was absolutely moreish. We loved everything about this hotel especially the resident cats! Our first night was 'gala night' but as we had just arrived we didn't know what it was! The man on reception said it was in the main restaurant but it was outside so we missed it! We had 2 turkish bath experiences in the spa which were excellent. Will be going back.More

We have just returned from Ali Bey after a 10 night stay and really enjoyed it. I spend quite a lot of time looking into the various hotels in Side, and ended up here. We were not disappointed! First up, on arrival we were greeted and given a welcome drink which is a nice touch after an hour in a taxi. The reception staff were great and explained everything. The reception itself is very nice. Then we got a shuttle round to our room in block 1, which was close to reception but furthest from the beach/restaurant etc. We actually enjoyed the walk back and fourth. Hotel Grounds - Quite possibly the cleanest hotel we've ever been in, the staff work non stop at cleaning and tidying up everywhere. They are like robots! The grounds are beautiful, my only criticism would be they were very dark at nights, only lit by little lights Hotel Room - Again spotlessly clean, the maids work very hard. We had a standard room and found it almost perfect. There is plenty of storage (plus point with the better half!) and lots of power points which hotels dont normally have. Shower and bath great. However the room was let down by the tea and coffee facilities. For a 5* hotel they are really unacceptable. No milk, just some powder creamer stuff, we asked for fresh milk for a tea but never got it. Considering there is a fridge in room, a small milk carton can't be too difficult to include. Most hotels of this standard have a good coffee machine aswell, Nespresso etc. The restocked mini bar is a great idea though! Bed was comfy, but not the best we've been in. Another point to note is the walls are very thin. You will hear your next door neighbours talking, babies crying, or in our case some singing! Restaurant - Moving on from the coffee moan, it was made up for here with the bean to cup coffee machine which was a nice surprise! The food at this hotel is absolutely outstanding, there is so much choice at all meal times, and beautifully presented. The live cooking stations are great for getting a fresh steak or lamb kebab etc. We didn't have much bother getting a table for the two of us, but appreciate that we were deliberately going to the restaurant towards the end of meal times.. Beach - We spent every day at the beach and it was great. The loungers are rearranged every night, the sand is all smoothed out which must take ages! There is plenty space between each set as well so you are not crammed in like sardines. Fantastic. One thing we felt would really add to the beach would be either a drinks service (like the pool gets) or even a small fridge/freezer station with drinks/ice creams. Minor point really. It was cooler at the beach due to the breeze but we prefer that. Bars - Drinks choice is good, not great. There are various cocktails on choice but being honest, they are made up far too strong, to the point of almost being neat alcohol. Shouldn't complain really, but they are pretty much undrinkable. However the non-alco cocktails are great, and the beer on tap etc is all fine. No cider though! We had lunch a couple of times at the beach bar and the choice is pretty good, burgers, toasties, salads, the usual. Staff here were superb. They were working very hard. Coffee House - Lovely, the tall young lady was probably the number one member of staff for us (sorry can't remember her name!) nothing was too much hassle. Nice coffees and loads of cakes! Pool - Didn't lie by the pool once, but it looked very busy whenever we passed. The bar here we found to be a bit more busy. Entertainment - The entertainment team are superb, they put loads of effort into the routines at night and its a great way to relax after your dinner. The Michael Jackson show, Lion King and Spirit of Anatolia were excellent. Bit chilly sitting out at this time of year though at 10pm at night! There was plenty going on during the day as well like volleyball, football, kids stuff etc which was all good to see. Spa - We only used the sauna a few times, which was lovely. Really great set up. We intended on using the gym but never went. We did use the Tennis court once which was 10 Euros for the hour, and 8 Euros for the equipment. We felt the court should be free really, as they were empty most of the time. Quite expensive if you want to play every day! Little Touches - There are lots of little things during the days that add to the experience here. Frozen towels on the beach in the afternoon are ace. Fresh waffles, pancakes, crepes, watermelon etc at various times are all great ideas as well. You will never go hungry at Ali Bey thats for sure! Overall - Thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff were great overall, and the cleanliness is outstanding. We were hoping for good things, but the hotel surpassed our expectations. A few minor points as stated above, if rectified really would have made this one of the best holidays we have been on. We would definitely recommend it, and will return at some point we think.More
