The hotel Ruidor was a brilliant holiday over the easter break, guests and staff were very friendly. It provided good facilities, free TV and wifi.
The food wasn't that great and did taste really bland, waitresses were lovely and very quick with service.
The Hotel rep (Matthew) was brilliant and helped by giving us lots of information about day trips and going out in the evening including transport, this made our stay more assuring. He was always around when we needed a question answered. We felt a very warm welcome and would defiantly advise going back again.More
We had a 2 week stay at the Riudor and couldnt fault anything. All the staff were very helpful. Our room was cleaned to a very good standard. We found the beds very hard our first night so next morning we requested mattress toppers,no problem these were put on straight away, they made a big difference.During our first week most guests were pensioners, it was nice to see them dress up for the evening and in the dining room, this changed when younger guests started to arrive for Easter, then it was mostly men in vests and shorts, the notice for the dining does say long pants advised. The free wifi was only available in reception, but very weak,I decided to pay for a week at the cost of 15 euros, this was excellent and I was able to use it everywhere in the hotel and around the pool.Food and choices was excellent, best weve had in any hotel in Benidorm.Deposit safes are 2 euros a day plus a 3 euro refundable deposit.Nice clean pool area with plenty of sunbeds and brollies for every one.We requested an extra room key and was given one with no problem.Flat screen tv s with lots of channels. We had a corner room on the side of Talk of the Coast above the hotel entrance and was very surprised how quiet it was when you close the patio doors, slept very well.Evening entertainment was very good, usually a quiz first then the show, Medplaya professional players put on some good shows, and some comedians, singers etc from clubs outside, just the hotels new entertainment compare Karl let it down. Very impressed with our stay and will be back.More
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Riudor for a week over Easter Holiday and it was horrible. From the first day we arrived the bedroom was small and unwelcoming. We requested a double bed through Thomson which they reassured twice we would get, but instead we had two single beds pushed together. The tv only had 6 channels, 2 being the news and old movies. We were by far the youngest couple at the hotel, luckily the other guests were kind, but we found the hotel staff very rude and unhelpful; especially the host of the restaurant. My boyfriend got a cider at dinner and they gave him a wine glass to drink from. When he placed the drink down the glass broke all over him and the table. He told the waiter though he never came to clean it up, apologise, or even offer him another drink.
Everything costs additional money such as wifi in your bedroom (only free in reception), water at the dinning room (not allowed to bring your own water bottle to meals) and the safe in the room (£2 daily with a £3 deposit). I found the hotel to have to many unnecessary rules like unable to wear high heels as you may disturb neighbours (though I believe the bars outside would be a much larger distraction) and only one room key per room. The Thomson rep (Matthew) was very unhelpful. He did not make us aware of anything happening in Benidorm and did not inform us of all the additional costs. The most frustrating thing was that we requested twice that the room not be cleaned with bleach as I am highly allergic though everyday the room smelled of bleach products, especially in the bathroom. Outside the hotel we found the shop keepers pushy and there were a lot of beggars on the streets. The flight with Thomson was also disappointing as the food and beverage on the plane is extremely over priced, there is not entertainment, the seat tables were dirty and at the end of your flight they ask for donations to their charities. I would not recommend this hotel or travelling with Thomson in the future.More
Good hotel, miserable guests
From the moment we arrived my boyfriend and I were looked down on as the youngest guests (by the other guests, not the management).
Guests and miserable and unfriendly and you're lucky if you can coax a "Good morning" out of them.
Food was reasonable, soups were horrible though, watery and tasteless.
Clean hotel over all, even if maids did throw away our water bottles that we were using.
Very noise because of the bars outside (we were on the side of the 'Talk of the Coast' cabaret bar). In hotel entertainment was dated and boring. We went out every night.
Biggest letdown was the Thomson rep (Matthew) who we asked for details of an English church we could attend on Easter Sunday or some information about the parades etc. He promised on two separate occasions to provide us with these leaflets or tell us where to go... This never happened. It was just unprofessional.
Overall I would rather visit The Med Playa Rio Park Hotel - better atmosphere, food and entertainment. More
This was our first trip to The Riudor Hotel. We went all inclusive ( as we always do ) the location was right in the heart of clubs, pubs etc. The food was good, pleasant restaurant staff. Some of the bar staff need a quick course on how to deal with the public, both my wife and myself could stand and stand waiting to be served. As I have already stated we went all inclusive, what a change from our normal Hotel we went to ( Flamingo Oasis ) we had to pay 1.40 euro for Larios gin & tonic which was half price as we were all inclusive, the local brandy was to say the least non-drinkable we ended up drinking Sobrano ( which we had to pay for ). The entertainment was good, the host Jose was excellent. Our room was on the eighth floor ( which we asked for ) the room needs an urgent refurbishment as does the hotel in general, the stairs down to the pool are a bit steep. The clientele was elderly, but, the people we spoke to have stayed numerous times. Overall, location good, meals good, hotel needs to be brought up to date.More
