40th birthday

Well we booked a 5 night break for a 34th and 40th birthday celebrations and the hotel didn't disappoint. Clean room, air con, friendly staff, decent food and a stones throw away from the night life. Pool is a life saver when it's 32deg and u can just jump in. No kids either is great as no screaming shouting etc well that's the adults haha. Defo advise stopping here and might come back in future. Cheers guys fab holiday More

Two week holiday!

Just came back today from a 2 week holiday in the Riudor hotel, and slightly confused with all the bad reports of this hotel. Me and my boyfriend (22 years old) stayed in this hotel, for one week alone then a week with my parents, my brother and his partner. And we couldn't fault this hotel. The location is fantastic, for beach, the pubs & the restaurants. The rooms are basic, but always clean. Your cleaner comes in every day; fresh towels, beds made and the room cleaned. We stayed half board in the hotel, and never went down for evening meal, so I can't comment on the meals . But breakfast was alright, a bit there for everyone. And always busy. But as soon as you had finished with your meal, they were straight there tidying up after you. The hotel is adults only, and the majority are older couples. But it isn't a problem, everyone is friendly and always speaks to each other. The hotel overall is very welcoming. We weren't the only young ones there, there was at least 40% young ones. Also on our last day there was a group of lads came in for a stag, but they weren't noisy. I agree the room walls are very thin, and you do hear a lot of movement from all over. But it's bare able. We stayed in room 402, facing talk of the coast, every afternoon they played music, but I personally wouldn't moan that the music was too loud. It's bearable. Some people are just looking to pick faults with everything... Anyway, who goes to Benidorm (new town) for a quiet holiday??!! Overall we loved our stay in the Riudor, we've been to Benidorm twice. And my parents have been four times and said the Riudor was their best stay. Go for it, you's will enjoy it :-) .More

Some good, some bad but excellent for smokers

My wife and I returned from a weeks holiday in Benidorm on 23rd July 2016 having stayed in Room 516 at the Riudor Hotel. In 2014, we also stayed at the Riudor and did not enjoy our stay and commented at that time that I would not stay at the hotel again - however, I agreed to give the hotel another try - what a mistake!! This is the third time that we have stayed at the Riudor and each time we have found that our holiday experience is getting worse. There are some good elements to our stay. The rooms are cleaned every day and towels are changed daily if requested. Also bedding is changed several times a week. Reception staff are very helpful. We had to have our air conditioning unit checked as it was very noisy. However, for the rest of the holiday it made a sound of a washing machine and we did not have a good nights sleep very often. Bar service is generally excellent, Paco in particular is very friendly and enjoys a joke. There is one bar man - who never wears his ID badge - who is miserable and seems to find it a chore to talk to British customers. Anyone who has stayed at the Riudor will know who I am talking about. He must be the only bar person in Spain who is in danger of being asked to leave the bar when Happy Hour starts. It is also worth noting that cocktails are no longer included in the All-inclusive offer, unless you choose the cocktail of the day. Is this the Spanish version of austerity? Food can best be described as basic and repetitive, although it is always hot and well cooked. Staff are very organised and friendly although one or two of the waitresses are a little miserable at times. If you enjoy pork, chips and mousse then the Riudor is the place to stay. In over 50 years, I have never eaten Chick Pea Stew but were offered it three times in my weeks stay. Avoid the cannelloni that was on the menu on Gala evening - it can only be described as horrible. My main gripe relates to the lack of facilities for non smokers in the pool and patio areas. These do not exist and from talking to the hotel rep there is no intention for these to exist. If you have any respiratory condition, this may be one area t avoid. Smokers everywhere - around the pool, sitting in the patio area - not a place to enjoy if you have any respiratory condition or simply hate smoking. This also restricts access to the entertainment as this is held outside. The hotel management say that they cannot do anything in this area as it is outside but in reality they DO NOT WANT to impose any restrictions.More
