Hotel Rio Park

They say it’s what’s on the inside that counts – and that’s certainly true of this place. From the outside, it’s a typical high-stacked Benidorm hotel. But inside, it’s recently had a serious makeover – especially the shared areas. The bar, for example, has a funky retro vibe, with orange and white chairs. Likewise the lobby and lounge have a stylish edge, with geometric sofas and low-slung armchairs. Rooms, meanwhile, are quite simple, but are kitted out with the essentials like air-conditioning and satellite TV.

The hotel scores points for location, too. It manages to walk the line between ‘in a secluded spot’ and ‘in the heart of the action’. You’ll find it on a quiet road that’s only about a ten-minute walk to the main bars and restaurants of Benidorm. Another ten and you’ll be at Levante Beach.

As for the pool here, it’s a decent size and is split into three separate sections. You’ll also find a pool bar, serving up pizzas and toasted sandwiches during the day.

On the subject of food, buffet meals are served in the restaurant. Like most parts of the hotel, it’s been given the minimalist treatment. Rounding things off there’s a British pub, where you’re guaranteed a decent pint.

Fantastic Hotel

Stayed 9th-18th April. This is my 3rd stay in the Rio Park Hotel and was just as good as I expected..The staff are very friendly and do a wonderfull job..Rooms basic but cleaned daily..Hotel spotless..Great food, better than some 4*hotels in Benidorm. You can also buy pizza, chips, burgers etc at the poolbar or main bar.Swimming pool is a good size and you never feel crammed in even in high season, plenty ov sunbeds and deckchairs and even covered areas. They do adults and childrens activities at certain times during the day which my daughter loved.Drinks reasonably priced even though they have increased slightly..Went out most nights so cannot comment on the entertainment but the staff done a Grease show which was fantastic considering they only had 13 days to practice for it.Some people state this hotel is only for old people, this is not true,as like most hotels in Benidorm if the schools are on holiday there is always plenty ov children around.10 min walk to the beach.Great hotel, and hope to be back soon.More

Bring back Jos'e

Regular visitors, both winter and summer, will be saddened to hear that Jos'e has been replaced by what can only be described as a non customer friendly person, name unknown. Jos'e greeted holiday makers at least twice daily when entering the restaurant his replacement we saw 4 times in 2 weeks eating meals and only once talking to a customer. Thank goodness not much else has changed, the staff are brilliant, the hotel is very light and airy and clean. The settee's in the reception area are kept clean despite people using them as beds with their shoes on them. In my opinion the food is not as good as it was a few years ago, both in quality and hotness but for the price we payed it was still acceptable. The major improvement is the entertainment, more shall we say professional. Would we go again, yes, even with the new managerMore

Great Value

First time staying here and it won't be the last. The majority of staff are really friendly and cleanliness is spot on. Food wise there could be a bit more choice for children but other than that no complaints. The new manager is friendly stopping for a chat making sure everything is OK. The hotel is close enough to shops, bars and beach but far enough not to be disturbing. All in all a really enjoyable time was had.More

Hotel as expected with exception of the restaurant and almost inedible food. Twin room for sole use was nice with balcony overlooking mountains, which caught morning sun. Free wifi in public areas (extended to my room as on third floor over public area) but heard hotel will charge for wifi in future. No do not disturb signs for room door, no hairdryer or fridge, but expected as 2 star. Didn't use pool, but area surrounding pool looking quite tired and not well maintained. Efficient, friendly reception staff. I booked independently, rather than through Thomson Holidays so was able to book twin for sole use. I saw a single room in the hotel and it was like a prison cell with no balcony. This is what you'd most likely get if on a package holiday as a single traveller. Most people at hotel on a package holiday so if price is right, I guess it could be good value, but be prepared to eat out! I am not particularly fussy, but I think the hotel needs to up their standards. Evening entertainment geared more for older people. No stags and hens when I stayed and in a relatively quiet area of Benidorm, although within easy walking distance beach and entertainment area.More
