Zante Atlantis

These apartments put you within footsteps of Laganas’ main strip. And they come with a good pool scene, too.

These apartments are just a few streets off the main drag in Laganas, so you’ve got shops, bars and restaurants practically on the doorstep. The beach, meanwhile, is less than a 10-minute walk away.

As well as being really central, the hotel wins points for its big pool, and the bar which stays open until late.

Noisey but nice

OK well were to begin, Thompson holiday for 1 week self catering, hotel is a 30 minute transfer from the hotel, 20 minute walk to the beach and 3 minute walk to the shops, bars etc so so far so good, all guests were English. The hotel is on a quiet street off the central area, with great views of the mountains and wonderful sunrises. The hotel is geared at 18 - 30's so you have music all day and night from 9 am until 12-30 am, the volume is turned up and down depending on the time of day so you could be in for some noisy evenings. The hotel pool is big enough for all with plenty of beds, though no comfy mattress, cold water, of course and plenty of balls to 'play 'with, so a good place to chill out, and no towels to reserve beds so there are plenty of places to lie and soak in the hot sun. The Atlantis is a self catering hotel it has a good cafe style eating area with reasonable prices, not top of the range food but adequate and they have special offers both for food deals and drink deals, '1 hour free bar' for 10 euros , BBQ night with all you can eat and drink for 2 hours at a cost of 20 euros. Ok the room, we had room D2 which was on the top floor over looking the mountains, the room was very spacious and spotlessly clean (cleaned every day), there was a small kitchenette with Kettle, toaster and a small 2 ring electric stove every thing you need to made tea and a sandwich, the room has an old style t.v. with BBC world news, only 4 channels. There is an air conditioning unit but this is an extra cost and also at an extra cost a small safety deposit box. The balcony is large enough for two to sit comfortably. bathroom was spacious with over bath shower (hot water daily) clean and fairly modern with plenty of towels, though these are only changed once if you are on a 1 week stay, as is the bedding. Two single beds with old mattress, very thin bottom sheet and another sheet to cover over, no blankets or other bedding, luckily it does not get cold at night. Very large wardrobe and two small bed side tables and a dressing table so all in all a modern style clean comfortable room. All staff were great and very helpful and patient, any maintenance problems are resolved the same day, let reception know or else if they think the problem is self inflicted you may be charged, and they do charge, there is a comprehensive list outlining the charges in the information book in all rooms, 4 euros for a pillow case to 200 euros for a door . The hotel does have a small gym, Large screen t.v. showing Euro sports daily, PlayStation and a good library in fact everything you need to have a good holiday. Very close to the hotel there is an ATM machine, launderette,Travel agent and two small shops selling English Newspapers etc, the bigger shops on the 'strip' offer more choice and cheaper prices, eg large bottle beer 1.15 euro and 6 litre bottles of water 1.50 euros, ready made baguettes 1.60 euros and so on. For those who like to eat out then you are in for a disappointment , we tried two restaurants and the food was terrible and expensive, the deal we were offered was three course and two free drinks each for 16 euros each, however the food was terrible, and left very nearly all of it, the saving grace was the free drink . Plenty of fast food places but Greek food was difficult to find and not worth the money to be honest we did not try every where so there may be other reviews who did find good food, this is only my experience, places on the beach offer Greek nights with dancing etc. The beach was a 10- 15 minute walk masses of bars and eating places, all sun lounges are free if you buy food drink there, with free Wi-Fi thrown in. The best place I found was a place at the far end of the beach by the small port, called Sabbia (40 minute walk), very clean and modern sun loungers with an exceptional manager who cleans the beds as soon as anyone leaves, good food and ice cold drinks, table service if you want or else the restaurant upstairs is very comfortable and clean, 3.50 for a pint of local beer and 2.50 for a toasted sandwich and same for a huge bowl of chips, 17 euros all in for the two of us, you can find cheaper but you get what you pay for. Plenty of beach space here, closer to the hotel the beach is very crowded so it is worth the walk in the bath water warm sea to Sabbia, go in the afternoon when there will be space, close to a boat rental place also and the turtle watching cruises boats. I cannot say anything about the real nightlife as this is geared towards the 18-25's, but loads of bars and clubs all with great drink deals to entice you in. If excursions is your thing, then try the island bus tour, for 17 euros each (you can pay more so shop around is the key). This is a whole day out seeing all the islands treasures and of course ship wreck cove, as seen on all the travel guides. Unfortunately due to the catastrophic earthquake and fire in 1953 all the old buildings are gone and most of the churches, but there is plenty of things to do, word of warning take a packed lunch as the restaurant stop is terrible with over priced food and drink and it is an hour stop so take your own food and plenty to drink. The island has daily earth tremors but you will not feel them as they are so weak so do not worry. This is a great party resort for young and all alike you will not be disappointed with your choice of resort or hotel. Enjoy your stay, oh when you leave the charge to retain your room is 45 euros or there are male and female changing rooms with showers in the basement free of charge to change for the airport. Have fun.....More

Girls holiday!

Went on a girls holiday to Zante. It was absolutely amazing! Cant really fault it at all. Rooms were clean and had everything you needed, and new towels and bed sheets daily! Food and drinks so cheap, brought to you by the pool side. (Quick as well) Reps were so lovely and amazing and such fun to be with (Thomson and the hotel) made us feel like we were right at home. Was a 5 minute walk from the strip, but this was perfect because it meant it was quiet but easy walking distance to everywhere. Wouldn't recommended for families as loud music from 9am onwards but perfect vibes otherwise. Only thing I'd say is don't be swayed into buying Packages as not always worth it! Other than that, us Girls had an incredible time. Thank you so much!!!!More

Laura D,

Best week of my life

I would go back within a heart beat! Everywhere was clean and kept tidy! The staff were amazing and definitely made the holiday! The reps were great too - got us all sorted for nights out on the strip, boat and pool parties in the day too! If you're looking for a girly/lad holiday to let your hair down and have fun then this is the best hotel! Even friends from different hotels came over to ours because they couldn't believe how good it was! Loud music by the pool all day got you in the mood for drinking all night and a really good dj every night whilst you pre drinked before heading out! It's not that far from the strip, it is a good 10/15 minute walk - but being that little bit further away makes it cleaner and quieter! Rooms were cleaned daily, new bed sheets and towels were always available! Wouldn't recommend it for families or couples who are not interested in nightlife, being loud, staying up late, drinking etc but it's perfect for a group of people who want to have fun! I would go back tomorrow!!!!!More

Best place to go without a doubt!

The hotel is clean and more importantly the staff and reps are out of this world, shout out to one of the Reps Bill who went above and beyond to look after me when I needed it! Completely looked after and would go again in a heartbeat!More
