Blend in with the locals for a traditional Greek breakfast or enjoy a home comfort of a cooked English breakfast the choice is yours. The Apollo also has a variety of traditional dishes and fresh local seafood for lunch and dinner.
Me and my girlfriend booked this hotel via travel agency office. One argument for this hotel was, that it looked very good at the pictures shown in the Internet and catalogues. I have to say, that the pictures show a little "too good" picture of the hotel. I mean, the hotel looks good at the outside, but less "elegant" or modern as seen on pictures.
We had a standard room and were quite satisfied with its size. There was a large balcony with a view over the terrace and swimming pool and it was very quiet. The bathroom was rather small, but still big enough.
What was not good in the bathroom: The lights were very weak and/or positioned at a unadvantegeous place: It was very difficult to see yourself clear in the mirror. For me as a man maybe not as important as for women, but it still caught my eye.
Further, the shower cabin was apparently not 100 % dense. After showering, there was always some water running towards back of the toilet. The toilet was okay, but the toilet brush was a nightmare. Investing a few Euro in that would change a lot...
The breakfast was very good, everything you need was available (plus a few extras for extra costs). The terrace was very nice and it was nice to have breakfast there.
The pool was nice, although the sunbeds have seen better times. But they are still okay.
What was rather disappointing: The hotel has a fitness room. Using it costs 5 â¬/day. Not only I find this quite expensive, but the quality of the equipment was not explaining the 5 Euro costs. Some bars were rusty, after exercising I really had rust on my fingers and training gloves. I understand that a hotel is not a profi gym, but when I pay such money, I would expect something "more".
Overall saying: The hotel is good. It is located very central, and you can reach everything within a few minutes.
However, if there would be put some more heart into this hotel, it could make a lot of small things better and outstanding.More

Two weeks of pure bliss
My wife and I for the last 26 years have travelled all over Greece but this was our first visit to Thassos and we stayed at the Pegasus for two weeks end of Aug / first week in Sept 2015.What can I say about this hotel? I can honestly say with hand on heart that it is a lovely hotel and I would if possible give it 11 out of 10,everywhere very clean, good breakfast, friendly staff ,good atmosphere around the pool and Bjorns Bar and last but not least a big thank you to Yannis for making our stay a really good one and God willing we will be back at the Pegasus next year. From the airport to the ferry approx. 10 minutes then half an hour on the ferry then 10 minutes from the ferry to the Pegasus, the hotel is about 60 yards from the main street with its tavernas and shops and about 600 yards from a nice sandy beach an ideal location. Once again a big thank you to Yannis from your Welsh friends who stayed in room 306 and remember Bore Da =KalimeraMore

Our 7th time in Thassos town and 2nd stay at the Pegasus, probably one of the best locations and nicest hotels in Thassos town and we have stayed in 5.
I read with some dismay at the criticism levelled at the hotel, sure its not 5* but you,re
not paying 5* money, the hotel owner Yanni is a great guy, helpfull too, and his staff always pleasant and efficient.
When we were there the pool bar was staffed all the time by the most pleasant young lady only too happy to help and the pool is a great size compared with some clean and tidy aiways.
The reception, room keys always on the counter ready to collect and a staff member never too far away, why would you expect it to be staffed 24/7 ?
The breakfast, UK tour company standard across the board, "simple and plenty of it"
sure if you want "english" expect to pay extra anywhere.
The cost, you wouldn,t believe how little of your money he actually gets and how often,
All in all "well done Yanni and your staff" Room 311.More

I had a wonderful holiday living in this hotel. With nice staff and owner. Good food in restaurant and good service and drinks in Bjorn's bar. Thanks to Yanni ð I will be back to my favorite island. Hugs from Norway! More
Disappointed as well!!!!
The reviews on TripAdvisor were all very complimentary about this hotel and this is why we made our choice - had I read Disappointed!!!! first I would not have booked.
Agreed the rooms are the best feature - ensure you get the quiet ones at the back though. The room we had 307 was large and the bathroom nicely tiled - however the size of the shower cubicle made it very difficult to shower properly and yes the floor did get flooded.
Breakfast was poor not even OK, typical continental with greek yoghurt - tinned fruit and some fresh and other meats and cheeses etc - but seemed like the hotel was trying to do breakfast on the cheap.
The cooked breakfast you had to pay additional for.
The picture of the hotel in all the literature looks like a full size pool, be aware photos can be deceiving!
As the pool bar was not manned and only opened during certain hours, it did not make us want to sit around it - in fact I think we did once and as we chose the hotel because of this it tells you something.
Bjorn's bar - if only there was a Bjorn!! - the bar is a fake bar with empty bottles laid out on it and no bar person to serve you, you can get a drink if they spot you and get the drink from the bar inside - not sure what they have as it's hidden in the corner.
This bar has so much opportunity to be busy - it does look good, but you have to invest in the staff to accumulate people who drink there - a real missed opportunity.
Agreed - in every other hotel I have been to there is someone behind reception to meet and greet you, the glass screen office is simply not customer friendly - I see the response from the manager - I suggest you empty the glass office and manage the reception area from reception - again another missed opportunity.
I am sorry to say that we did not feel welcomed by the staff - generally ignored us.
It is very over priced for what you get when booked via Thomson - you could get the same in Santorini or the more popular islands easily.
We wanted to try a new Greek island and this hotel did not do its bit to make us want to return, it's a shame as we'd so looked forward to going.
Remember you need to pay extra for A/C and Safe - 100 euros for both for two weeks.
Not sure where the gym was - again this is something we had wanted to use - on-line did not note the 5 euro fee, so we did not look into using it as by this time felt fairly let down.
This hotel has so much potential but it needs a heart (agreed disappointed!! - and we couldn't find it! Invest in some excellent bar staff - you will see a return - as least do this in the high season!More
