Hotel Pegasus

This small, traditional place is right in the heart of Thassos Town, but manages to stay nice and peaceful.

This simple place is surprisingly peaceful, given it’s right in the heart of Thassos Town. Shops, bars and restaurants are on the doorstep, and it’s just a 10-minute walk to a golden-sand beach.

The pool is the hotel’s centrepiece. You’ll also find a restaurant that does a good breakfast spread, and an al fresco café-bar serving cocktails.

Pegasus Hotel, Thassos Town

We stayed at the Pegasus Hotel for two weeks this June and couldn't have been more happy. It's a small family run hotel very well positioned near the center of beautiful Thassos town. The room we had was very good with an excellent bathroom with a shower cubicle. Breakfast was fine and the bread was gourgeous. They have a lovely pool with sunbeds and parasols, though I think they should have a few more parasols, and the owners has a garden where he goes peppers and tomatoes. If you hire a hire there is plenty of parking at the hotel. All in all we would highly recommend the Pegasus and will certainly be returning.More

Stevie61,

Lovley stay

Just got back from beautiful week at Pegasus hotel in Thassos town .the Pegasus is a little oasis in the middle of town .all shops and bars on the doorstep but when you're round the pool you wouldn't think anything was that close its so quiet .This week the hotel was full but we virtually had pool to our self's .The staff were lovley and couldn't do enough for you special mention to Lauren and Julie. Upgraded to superior room half way through week because we wanted larger bed with no trouble at all .will definitely be going backMore

Very relaxing hotel, excellent host and staff!

Just returned from a week long break at the Pegasus Hotel and it gives me pleasure to write this report following a superb holiday. Firstly I would like to commend Yiannis, the Hotel owner for his excellent hospitality. Also 'geordie' Lauren who was on hand most days and was a delight to deal with, she always had a smile for the guests and gave us some brilliant restaurant recommendations. Julie was also good serving us lunch by the pool each day. The hotel itself is very clean and well decorated. It is well located and just a short walk from the harbour. It is worthy of note that a superior room is well worth the additional cost for the extra space and comfort; we were in 315 which was amazing with a King Size bed, very comfortable décor and a lovely bathroom. We did have one night in a standard room which was OK, however if you can afford a little extra it is worth upgrading to a superior room for the comfort of the little extras which can make your holiday. Breakfast is continental style and is quite adequate. A cooked option is available for a small extra charge, however cereal, fruit, bread, meats and cheeses are more than adequate. I must make a special mention to the Greek Salad we had for lunch each day in the pool bar/restaurant. Yiannis grows his own tomatoes, peppers etc and they taste exquisite when picked fresh each morning to be on your plate at lunchtime. Finally the struggles of the Greek economy is well documented and the challenges faced by businesses is severe. I am no fan of Tour Operators and the service they provide and would recommend any potential traveller should contact Yiannis direct on email: info@thassos-pegasus.com and enquire about booking direct; they will even arrange all transfers from airport to hotel for you. These businesses need your money, therefore please consider booking direct and do your bit to help the Greek people and economy. All in all we had a fantastic week at Pegasus; it was our first time in Thassos however we loved exploring the town and the harbour area each evening and will definitely be returning. Finally a word about Thassos itself. This island is unspoilt by mass tourism; if you are looking for McDonalds and all you can eat Chinese buffets you will be disappointed. This is typical Greece with various harbourside restaurants and Tavernas serving excellent food at good prices. Yiannis and Lauren will recommend where the best places are to eat. Try the Meze, however be careful of the after dinner Ouzo as it is hard just to have one and is very strong.More

Great hotel with knowledgeable and helpful owner and staff

This was our second visit to the Pegasus Hotel. We stayed there 27 years ago and returned to find that it was as we remembered, but with the addition of an outdoor bar and a swimming pool. Our room was adequate and clean although our balcony was small. Our friends had a larger balcony which was more useable. The room had a fridge which was useful and a hairdryer. There was plenty of wardrobe space. The en-suite shower room was good and towels changed once during our stay (1 week). Air conditioning was available at an additional charge. The continental style breakfast was taken at the bar area around the pool. There was a good selection of items to choose from and the yoghurt and local honey was delicious. Hot food could be purchased at an additional cost, but we found that this was not needed as the continental breakfast was very good. The owner Yiannis is very helpful and knowlegeable and his staff likewise. They helped us to book car hire and gave us information regarding places to visit. A very enjoyable holiday, great hotel and lovely island.More

Owner made the holiday for us. Excellent

Yiannis, the owner, absolutely made the break for us with his charm, wit and local knowledge. He runs a well-managed, clean hotel that is well-situated, clean and has helpful staff. He and his team could not have been more helpful and attentive. The hotel is great value and the rooms are clean, well looked after and the pool is great and refreshing. Breakfast is basic, but all you need. The bar has all the basics and the big screen TV in the bar at the front of the hotel good for watching the Euros. Yiannis is justifiably proud of his hotel and he has every right to be. Thanks for a memorable stay.More
