Hotel Pegasus

This small, traditional place is right in the heart of Thassos Town, but manages to stay nice and peaceful.

This simple place is surprisingly peaceful, given it’s right in the heart of Thassos Town. Shops, bars and restaurants are on the doorstep, and it’s just a 10-minute walk to a golden-sand beach.

The pool is the hotel’s centrepiece. You’ll also find a restaurant that does a good breakfast spread, and an al fresco café-bar serving cocktails.

NOT JUST HERE FOR THE BEER

Last year, Yianni, the owner, had a dark beer on sale that made a pleasant change from the fizzy lager that is about the only other thing available. As a real ale drinker, this went down very nicely, thank you very much. This year, I asked if he had any but was told that few people liked / tried it, so no, not available. To my delight, the next day he informed me that he had been out and bought some. Needless to say I managed to force the odd one or two down my throat and by the end of our fortnight, four of us had managed to drink it all. The point of this review ? Ah yes, for anyone wanting a different drink, ask Yianni, I am sure you will not be disappointed. The beer ? FIX Dark. from a brewery in Athens. And yes, I know this is supposed to be an hotel review, but this will have to do.More

A Great Hotel in A Great Location.

My wife and I have just returned from a very enjoyable two weeks stay at the Pegasus. The hotel is located in the centre of the town, close to the restaurants, tavernas, and bars. It is close to the ferry port and about a ten minute walk to the old harbour and town beach. The hotel rooms are well furnished with very good bathroom facilities. The staff are very good and very friendly. A good buffet breakfast is provided. The hotel has a nice swimming pool with sunbeds and a pleasant garden area. There are two bars available and food is available at lunch and dinner times.More

Happy holidays

Had a great 2 weeks stay in June this year. Hotel is in a great central location, minuets from any of the numerous bars Thassos town has to offer, some lovely ones near the port , but the best are located just off the square. Some of the best food had in Greece and portions are huge, but never order a sweet as they always give you one free ! Sometimes even wine ! Hotel is very clean, large rooms and has everything you need for a relaxed holiday. Yanni and the staff were very friendly and were on hand if you needed anything. Hubby enjoyed watching the world cup with Yanni of an evening. Quieter located rooms on the back of hotel.More

Very restful fortnight in a lovely Greek island.

My wife and I stayed at the Pegasus for a fortnight, between August 28th and September 11th. It was a wonderfully restful two weeks on a beautiful Greek island to which we were returning for a second time. The hotel was always immaculately clean, and Yanni, Irena, Antoinetta and the rest of the staff looked after us very well, without being obtrusive.. We were in Room 207, overlooking the garden and pool, and were never aware of any noise at all. Particularly enjoyed the shower, which was better than most that we have come across in the other Greek islands we have visited. Breakfast was buffet style and eat as much as you like - a fact taken advantage of by one party of four people who piled their plates up with food, and then took more away ,wrapped in serviettes, for their lunch. Greedy buggers ! The hotel was very well situated, close to restaurants, shops and the nearby marina and Old Harbour, and also very handy for the port and the bus station. No problem in recommending the Pegasus to anyone wishing to holiday in Thassos.More
