The Atlantica Imperial Resort is in a really scenic spot. It's flanked by cliffs and pulled up against the sea. Better still, Kolymbia's Blue Flag sand-and-shingle beach is right on the doorstep, and you've got the bars and tavernas of Kolymbia town within a couple of minutes' walk.
Outside, a large swimming pool winds its way through the grounds. There’s a whirlpool bath, too, set among raised rockery. And thanks to the property’s seafront position, you can unwind within earshot of the waves. Best of all, the hotel is part of our Thomson Couples range, so the surroundings are child-free.
As for the bedrooms, they’ve been painted in soothing shades of cream and terracotta. For an added touch of luxury, plump for a beachfront Junior Suite – these come with muslin-draped four-poster beds and dark wood furniture.

We stayed here for a little get away over Easter and were really pleased with everything about this hotel. The food was always fresh with a good amount of choice. The A La Carte restaurant was lovely - staff went the extra mile to attend to an allergy I have. Our room was just beautiful. Sea front with welcome food and drinks on arrival. We hired a car from the front entrance as we like to travel around during the day but we were always glad to get back to such a welcoming and comfortable hotel. Finally I feel the staff at this hotel deserve an additional mention as all staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend a stay here. More
Fantastic hotel and resort!
This was our first time at the Atlantica in rhodes and i would hope it wont be our last. We loved everything about it and could not find a thing about the hotel to complain about. We had a very efficient and welcoming check in even though several coaches arrived at once - this differs from some reviews i have read but we were impressed by how many staff were there and how they dealt with the volume of people arriving . Room cards and info was pre prepared so there was no real queue to get the info you needed and access to the room. Bags were brought to the room super quick and as the restaurant was closed a lovely selection of sandwiches, crisps and a bottle of wine awaited in the room. The all inclusive selection of food and drinks were excellent and there were no hidden charges. Calypso coffees are a must! The staff working in the bar were fantastic and attentive and if you were happy to let them they would bring you different cocktails to try each time your glass was empty. Snacks were readily available but usually after the amazing selection at breakfast, lunch and dinner it was rare that snacks were needed. The restaurant was made better as tables were also situated just outside the restaurant in the main part of the hotel in which was a magical setting next to the waterfall and trees. Times when people were queing were often when they didnt want these tables. This was baffling as we chose these tables each time. I can only imagine people felt they were too far away from the food! We got into the a la carte restaurant no problem for we took advice and booked early as we only had one opportunity to go. Food and service were brilliant! The room was the most amazing part for us. We werent in the main building and had a superior room which had a four poster bed and the most breath taking sea view. Extras like the slippers and robes made all the difference and we found it very hard to leave. The resort was quiet as early in the season. This meant no fight for sun beds! The beach was perfectly quiet for walking along each day and there was never a wait at reception of you needed anything. On departure day it was very busy as all thomson flights departed on the same day and pretty much at the same time. There was a lack of organisation but this was not a reflection on the hotel but on the tour operator and i think this needs to be clear. Seems so odd that all flights to the uk are so close to one another. Could not recommend this hotel enough hence the long review and i never usually write reviews! I cant imagine why anyone would not enjoy a visit here! Ps also went to the spa which was awesome! More
Lovely hotel - good variety of vegetarian food!
Overall this was a very nice hotel. Check-in was slow as we arrived at the same time as several other coaches, but it was nice to be served champagne whilst in line. We were given a quick tour of the hotel and shown to our room, where we found sandwiches, crisps, fruit and a bottle of local wine, with our suitcases arriving at our door within about 40 minutes. I'm vegetarian and must point out I was very pleased to discover half the sandwiches were vegetarian (if you're a veggie couple, perhaps let the hotel know when booking?) As it's the beginning of the season, we always managed to find a nice table at the bar, and a good space by the pool. We tried to book a table at the A La Carte restaurant on the second morning but it was already fully booked for the week (this was due to the weather and the fact the outside tables were not in use, so I recommend booking as soon as possible). We were a little disappointed but reception put us on a waiting list and (luckily for us) someone cancelled so we managed to get a table before the end of the week. The food at the A La Carte restaurant was lovely! The waitress brought out a "chef's surprise" which had meat in it, so I said no thank you and explained I am vegetarian, and she took it away. To my surprise, she came back with an alternative dish - now that's service! The food and the service was excellent here and by far my favourite night of the holiday! The buffet was also quite nice, my favourite being "Asian Night" as there were lots of veggie dishes to enjoy. I had to ask the sous chef what was vegetarian and he was very helpful, but it would be nice and would make such a difference if the restaurant started putting "suitable for vegetarians" on their signage. We found the drinks too sugary and the cocktails were often made with substitute ingredients (lime cordial instead of real lime juice in the margaritas for example). So I mostly stuck to local wine and beer which was fine. The entertainment was a bit hit and miss - the Abba tribute was good fun, and JS2 were good, as were the quizzes, but the other acts weren't great. The pool area was peaceful and relaxing, and the room was really clean and comfortable. The hotel itself is very nice and all of the staff are very helpful and friendly! Overall we had a wonderful time. This is nothing to do with the hotel but worth mentioning as it may help others. We travelled with Thomson and our coach left the hotel on Saturday at around 6.30pm. As we couldn't have dinner at the hotel we thought we'd grab something at the airport, but as we were on one of the last flights, there was no food left -except a few bags of cheetos. We boarded the plane and one of the first announcements was about how busy the outbound flight had been and the plane had run out of all food. This is really disappointing and I think Thomson could have planned this a bit better. So perhaps on the day you leave have a late lunch or take some snacks with you from the shop. Overall though, a nice break.More

Another good holiday at the Atlantica Imperial, but ....
Another good holiday at the Atlantica but improvements could be made. Food as good as always with plenty of choice, a little difficult if you prefer plain food but then you can always have chips every day or spaghetti. The sweets although nice I must admit I wasn't impressed as previous years; same variety most days, the moose was solid unless you had it on a pasty base. Pool area was clean, although be careful of the sunbeds as there are quite a few that need maintenance and in my opinion an accident waiting to happen, as some don't fit correctly in the slots at the back. Entertainment was poor although the entertainment rep did try hard. The games given to her by Thompson's were rubbish and a waste of time and there was no reason to be competitive as there are no prizes. What can I say about the evening entertainment without being too rude. It was rubbish! Magnola's wife appeared twice in the week, once in Abba and a second with her husband as a duo; not much of a variety unless it was buy one get one free. Another act act left everyone waiting outside the ballroom for half and hour whilst setting up, which would have been fine if they had been worth waiting for; they were not. If you like good entertainment then think again before coming here.Bedrooms are clean although getting a little dated now. Service in the bar upstairs slow, and a lot quicker to fetch your own drinks. Staff as always exceptional and will do what they can to help. This hotel is worth a visit but just be wary of the entertainment which truly lets this hotel down.More

"Simply the best"
Just returned from yet another amazing holiday at this hotel, we love it and it's perfect location, overlooking the sea. We were looked after from the minute we stepped through the hotel doors for the entire stay of our holiday. Our room was beautiful, clean & spacious and the food was lovely with a great variety to choose from every day. A beautiful, peaceful place that is "simply the best"More
