Couples Sousse

Loading

The adults-only Couples Sousse is set about halfway between the centre of Sousse and the pretty harbour town of Port El Kantaoui, which means you’ve got a string of restaurants and bars less than a 5-minute drive in either direction. The property still feels tucked away, though. It’s half-hidden by palms and has a private curve of sand.

The hotel has been extensively refurbished for summer 2013 and the redesign has been done with Arabian Nights in mind – a collection of 18th-century folk tales that inspired the Aladdin and Sinbad movies. You’ll see romantic, Persian-style influences everywhere you look. Think crisp white walls, curved ceilings, and swooping archways that open out to peaceful gardens and the hotel’s swimming pool.

At dinner, you can choose between a buffet restaurant serving international dishes, and a pair of à la cartes - a Mediterranean and an Indian. You can try local favourites like couscous stews and fresh fish here.

Exceeding All Our Expectations

My wife and l stayed at the Scheherazade, Sousse during their opening week. On arrival we were greeted by a band all in traditional dress. At Reception we were given a most welcome cold drink/ nibbles whilst we waited for our keys/ towel card etc. Seemingly moments later Hedi had our bags taken to room 804 where another surprise awaited us - it was decorated throughout with flower petals, the fridge fully stocked, a fruit bowl and a dish of heart shaped chocolates. This set the tone for the whole week- orchestrated by Hedi all the staff worked in harmony to correct any complaint, sort any problem and make the our stay memorable for its level of excellence. Our week was not without problems however- l didn't have a cork screw in my room (sorted within minutes), the handle came of the bathroom door (sorted in minutes) and l ran out of coffee (sorted in minutes). Other reviewers have commented about the food and drink- the only problem we had was which dish to try as the variety of mainly, cooked to order foods was so large. Diets were quickly abandoned at the sight of the delicious deserts, fresh strawberries and wide choice of ice creams. My only comment on the drinks would be that after a number of bottles of red wine l found the white more to my taste! The beers not bad either! For those who can't live without their IPad/ tablet the hotel has free Wifi which is not wonderfully fast but quite adequate for emails/ browsing/ downloading the odd book. Overall, if you are looking for an easily affordable five star Tunisian experience you will not do better than the Scheherazade 'Couples' Sousse. Hedi, please say a big thank-you to all your staff who made our holiday so memorable.More

Spring Break

We have just returned from a one week stay at this wonderful couples only Hotel. The staff were friendly and enthusiastic however it was only week 2 of the new Summer season. This being said it very much felt like this ethos would carry on thoroughout the Summer ensuring all guests were delivered the highest of standards. We upgraded our room from a standard Double to one of the suites Room 500, which offered lounge plus swim up pool. The room shelved down to the beach and you were a short walk from all the Hotels facilities. The food was excellent focussing nightly on a different cuisine from around the world however my favorite was the Tunisian night. The restaurant also had live music which provided ambience. The location was ideally placed between Sousse and Port El Kantoui with either taxis or the usual tourist Noddy train to get you around. My only criticism would be the beds were very firm, very very firm and not our choice. Finally it is worth mentioning that ALL the key staff turned out to wave us goodbye. Including the general Manager who turned up in civvies and was not officially working his shift. Great customer service and we would defintely recommend this as a fantastic spot to unwind with that special person.More

Fab!!!

My boyfriend and I are a young couple who visited Tunisia for the first time and we were really suprised by our hotel as we did not know what to expect. But we loved it. Despite going on an all-inclusive holiday, as a couple we aren't huge eaters (drinkers on the other hand) so we found the food fantasic as there was plenty to choose from and if you didn't want loads on your plate, there was plenty for you to choose from including the yummy salad bar. We also preferred the beach/pool bar at lunch time rather than the main dining area as it was perfect for snacking. The staff were beyond friendly and could not do enough for you. Our rep was helpful and told me everything I needed to know. My boyfriend and I had a morning in the spa which we loved but don't just take the first deal the man tells you about (like me) as I later found out they had cheaper yet similar deals. I loved my room! We had a room on the top floor looking over to the dining terrace, pool and beach so we were beyond happy. Overall, the cleanliness of the hotel was brilliant and our chambermaids were soooo lovely!!! Even down to the pool, beach and gym, area... Everywhere was kept neat and tidy. Theres absolutely nothing outside your hotel bar a 3 story shop which sells everything (bar alcohol) so if you ever wanted nibbles, get them from there NOT the mini shop in the hotel. Everyone I spoke to in the hotel enjoyed the excursions but we did not do any as we are right lazy sods and just lay on the beach all day. However, we did jump in a taxi and went to the port were there were a few coffee bars. I was then told I had to walk further in to find other bars and restaurants which I am gutterd I didn't do. Overall, we had a fab time and could not fault our stay! We also risked it by going the beginning of April so were not gaurenteed the weather but we got it :-)More
