My 1st ever holiday abroad at the grand old age of 49 ! Have spent all year saving for this and was not disapointed. The hotel, staff , food location ( need I go on ) was just wonderful, Went on boat trip and scuba diving. Fantastic. Just could not fault the holiday Would throughly reccomend Club Turban to anyone. Would go back tomorrow if I could afford it !! Thompson you were great and it lived up to everything Sam at your Wimslow branch promised
I really enjoeyd my holiday in marmaris. The Club Turban hotel was great and the staff working there is fantastic: very friendly, very helpfull. Me and my wife were so impressed with hotel staff. People there gave lots of attention to our baby and ourself. Also location was great in the middle between marmaris and Icmeler. Nice and quite with good walking distance to all shops and restaurants. We probably will come back to that hotel. Unfortunately not everything was great. Our flight back was cancelled so we had to stay a bit longer in Turkey. We loved Marmaris but we were told to go to First Choice Holliday Village. This place was a nightmare comparing to Club Turban. Staff was not friendly at all, meal areas were dirty and smelly (especially near beer stations). The only microwave in Tropical did not work and I spent nearly half an hour trying to heat up milk for my daughter. In Club Turban there was a hot milk as well as a working microwave. Even in the night I could get some milk from Lobby Bar. In Tropical I was told to pay for coke few minutes past midnight. I was trying to explain that we just were transfered there cos of cancelled flight and arrived minutes ago but nobody wanted to help me.... This is not a first time I had a bad experience with first choice. For me there is a different between Thomson and First choice even if you work together now I defenitly will go with Thomson for my holiday in the future but not with the first choice. I am not going to officialy complain about Tropical Holliday Village I just want you to know what is the difference between those two places. I loved Club Turban and can assure everybody how good this place is especially for families. Just the last thing. In Club Turban nobody asked me to give them good feedback. This is because they now themself they good. In Tropical we went to creche and found this kind of notice on the window: "if you happy with our service in more than 66% give us excellent score". I can only say excellent is if I am happy in 100%, ok in 99% but not 66%. Club Turban is excellent. Tropical First Choisce Holiday Village is just average. Thank you for my 7 nights in Marmaris. I forgot already about my eight night...
From 1st arriving we just looked and went WOW. Room was cleaned daily and beds changed. From cleaners to bar staff and also reception staff where so friendly and accommodation. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent with so much to choose from, there was always something on the menu that you would like and if you had fussy kids they can always have burger & chips or beans on toast (as good as Heinz) they even had HP sauce or it was sauce in a HP bottle but it was nice. I think there was 6 or 7 swimming pools,1 that was for adults only plus the beach which was next to a Dolphin research place where you can pay to visit or swim with them. I could go on and on but All you need to know is I can't find fault with it. Ideal for families and couples or even if your just single. I thing to watch out for. If your a smoker DO NOT buy tobacco of the street or even in the shops ITS ALL FAKE. Its actually cheaper on the flight than at duty free. Highly recommended so go and enjoy.
We just love Turkey and this was our fifth visit to Marmaris in eight years. This was our second time at Club Turban and again we just didn't want the holiday to end. First the downsides - yes, there are too many rude, arrogant, ignorant Russians at the hotel. You would think that they had either never eaten before or they were about to eat their last meal the way they would pile the plates with food... However, from my last visit where there were very few Brits, there were far more there this time round. The hotel is now a few years old and there is some 'fraying at the edges'. In general, the hotel is spotlessly clean and tidy. But - a close look in some communal areas and the chairs look tatty, some boards are missing from the jetty or roofs. And finally as a 'downside' - the food. Although to call it a downside is a bit harsh. It was plentyful, it was varied and overall it was ok. It just was a little bland at times. Maybe this was just me as i dont really like to venture out and try new foods and I stay with what I know. There was loads on offer and you could have something different everyday if you wanted. Now. The 'upsides'. Basically everything else. The staff are superb - no matter what area they work in, they cant do enough for you and nothing is too much trouble. The pool sides are clean and with 3 different pools to chose from as well as a huge private beach - they are never too crowded. We preferred the "Relax Pool" which is away from the main pool and meant for adults only.(No noisy kids etc...) The animation team involve everyone that wants to be involved and they get to know you personally. The night time shoes were great = but not entirely my cup of tea. The beach was great - loads of room, a bar at either end, two jetty's to jump off or sunbathe on and a water sports 'centre' that has some free toys to use. (Nothing motorised). Me and my son played tennis a few times, water polo practically everyday but kept away from the volleyball as those pesky Russians 'hogged' the court and took the 'game' far too seriously. The drinks were plentyful and could be got from an array of bars dotted about the complex. The rooms were brilliant, huge and cleaned everyday. OK, this time we didn't have the best of views - but you dont spend that much time in there anyway. Would have to agree with others - this is not 5 star as we know it in England - but a four staff plus perhaps? To round off - a fantastic time and we'll be going back
Just back from a wonderful time in Turkey mainly due to excellent standards and facilities at hotel ie pools, food, cleanliness, service, surroundings We had been worried after reading lots of reviews about 'Russians' but now feel the need to put the record straight. There were indeed people piling food on their plates which could be frustrating if you are queuing behind them, but, generally, if you watched, adult family members would gather particular food ie bread, fruit, meats and take it back to the table for the whole family to share. This is not greed just a different way of having family meals. To be honest, the biggest problem was children(of all nationalities) taking food without adult supervision, amounts of which they were clearly not going to eat. One problem - the waiters didn't seem to clear tables quickly enough and we never worked out if we were supposed to tip each one each day so they would do their jobs - they certainly gave some people a personal waiting service! The hotel is beautifully set within a wooded area which ensures plenty of shade and gives character. The complex is so big but unassuming that it took us several days to explore. There are many bars, the beachfront with the live music was our personal favourite which was decked out with big cushions. There is so much for the children to do. We were lucky enough to be housed right next to the aqua park and our son could be first on the slide every day. There is a hotel kids club ('Dolly') which seems to cater mainly for children of other nationalities and an English Thompson club which we found to have limited activities - generally colouring in! The 'Dolly' kids seemed to be doing more exciting outdoor activities but less supervised and you were in danger of being victim of the terror tots! We went on a couple of trips including 2 boat trips - strongly advise you to go via the hotel rather than Thompson. Thompson charged us £26 inc meal and drinks. The meal was ok though the beer was 'skol' lager out of a plastic bottle. We were also told that the kids would be entertained by the reps whilst on the boat (colouring in!). Club Turban's exact same trip was cheaper and better! We did the Dalyan check out trip which was excellent value and the tour guide was interesting and extremely knowledgeable. the spa is amazing and highly recommended for the chill out times when you manage to get rid of the kids Overall we've had a brill holiday and would definitely return to this hotel.
