What a fantastic place to stay, staff always friendly and welcome you with a smile. we have never been to Egypt before but we are saving to go again and of course we want to stay at the club majic life!!! the food was great so much to choose from and plenty of it, the only thing was there was so many different choices we didnt get to try everything on the menue. Every where was clean. Nice and warm during the day but quite cold at night but because people had wrote reviews about this we were well prepared for the cold nights. when we do go back we will go a little later so it is warm in the evenings. i cant wait to return and Cub Majic Life is a credit to the management and staff well done!!!!!!!!
had a fantastic holiday at club magic life, very clean throughout all areas;staff are very friendly and helpful. No complaints re food, lots to choose from and although we only ate in main restaurant and the beach snackbar the option is there to book a table in one of two a la cartes. There are lots to do eg boules, archery etc or do absolutely nothing-no pressure. There are several shops within walking distance or a coutesy bus to naama bay ,worth a visit but not too exciting. The only downside was the option to snorkle wasn't there(due to recent shark attacks)and by the last few days of our holiday the impact of the Cairo troubles was starting to have a knock on effect at the resort ie number of tourists rapidly reducing as other countries stopped flying there and a worry regarding food supplies to hotels. All in all though a fab holiday in a great hotel, will go again
Having come back last week not long after the troubles started in other parts of Egypt the first thing to say is that Sharm felt safe and the only way you would know anything was happening was by watching TV. We have stayed in the Africana Imperial in Tunisia previously and already expected high standards but Sharm was better in every respect. Food and service in the main restaurant was excellent and the Thai Mediterranean restaurants were truly superb with the kind of service I can last remember getting on the Orient Express. Despite being the middle of January we ate every meal 'al fresco' and in fact everything is geared to outdoor living. Even the shows are in an amphitheatre outside and a nice touch is the blankets that you can borrow on the way in. If we go next year I would take something a bit warmer for evenings. Staff really can't do enough to help and previous comments about tipping are wide of the mark. I have to say we only tipped at the end of the holiday in the boxes provided and were glad to do so as we felt service was above and beyond the call. There are a lot of nationalities so the shows have to cater accordingly. There is also a wide variety of age groups which is nice. No loud drunks or rude Russians (which someone mentioned in a previous review) when were there. The gardens are beautiful and the beach kept immaculate. Our main disappointment was that there is still no snorkelling off the reef because there may be a shark lurking within a thousand miles! Can't wait to go when the all clear is sounded. You can swim when the tide is in over the shallow part but there isn't a lot to see. Activities abound, but there is no compulsion to join in. We spent a lazy ten days and never quite got round to anything, but the choice is there. As to location, the hotel is set right on the beach and there is a promenade which allows you to walk quite a way in both directions. We became quite smug doing this as there was nowhere that looked as good as Magic Life!! A couple of minor negatives - there tends to be a lull after dinner before the shows begin and the transfer to airport is only about ten minutes away so why take you 4 hours before the flight? There is some plane noise as well but we never found it annoying or intrusive.
On arrival was shown to ground floor room, dark, on a walkway, so curtains would have to be kept closed. We paid extra for pool view, which u could see at a push. Rep did get us moved to 2nd floor room quickly.Grouting in bathroomfurniture needs sorting, bed comfortable, linen towels good. No coffee making facilities. Cleaner kept room cleanfridge topped up with water, soft drinks etc. Also left pretty displays of flowers etc on bed. Although against pool rules, once again towels on sunbeds at the crack of dawn. There r plenty of beds around pools on beach for all but your choice becomes limited. Main restaurant, very large, with outdoor/indoor seating, cooking stations, design does not work.Food more variety/quantity than quality.Pastries quality/choice excellent. Was themed every night and done well but as a couple not relaxing, although waiter service for coffee, wine etc. Felt like a school cafeteria. Mau Tai (by beach) restaurant open for snacks and buffet all afternoon, far more relaxing but food choice becomes limited. The 3 A la carte restaurants, can be booked personally only, after 11am at guest services. Usually little choice after 11.05! How! Only managed to book Sofra(egyptian)ourselves, excellent, food, service etc. Mai Tai rep booked for us (as we failed) also excellent. Fish restaurant, rep could have booked it for the last night but we cancelled, too late then. Tipping system strange, also does not work. Main tip boxes in all bars, restaurants, we like to tip personally but such a large staff of waiters not valid. If put in main box anonymous. OK if u want to go to same bar, sit in same place all through your hols. Not for us we like variety Positive. New Years Eve/day, spectacular show, unbelievable. All entertainment professional and excellent. Eagles bar staff excellent. Beach bar relaxing, staff excellent. Towel man/lifeguard relax pool/beach excellent. Most staff, polite, helpfull, smiling.Gardens stunning.Large resort with many amenities. International spirits available, also good wines. A complete AI experience. Negatives. No need to tip personally but you can get ignored, kept waiting by some polite, smiling staff. Resort very large, feel as if once again some other european have priority and do they know it. We did have a huge storm, our 2nd floor room had 3ins water!Only bed a dry oasis, most rooms same. No snorkeling because of sharks. Great place for some not us. Thomson/hotel need to co-ordinate. Rep brill.
This was a lovely hotel with good service, food and wine. Right on the beach. Rooms could do with a bit of an update, but nothing major. Plenty of hot water in the shower. The whole complex is immaculate. Everything is clean and tidy. Lovely pools. Excellent staff and service. Highly recommended.
