We have been here twice before and this year it has really gone down hill. The resort was always quiet and people were respectful of others, this year however the place was full of loud northerners with even louder children. Due to the size of the pool and the surrounding area, it became very dangerous to be in the main pool and even the baby pool so much so that we had to take my grandaughter out of the pool everyday because of the boisterous behaviour from these families. The apartment was not as clean as it used to be, all night long we could hear people moving furniture and everytime they used the loo we also had the pleasure of hearing it floww down the pipes. The beds were so uncomfortable we felt crippled getting out of bed every morning (I have slept on more comfortable rocks in my time) the mattresses were so old and worn out they should have been put in the skip a couple of years ago. Most nights we had the delightful experience of smelling the sewers this lingered throughout the night and into the morning. We werent aware there was a Rep until our last day when he put a card under our door with the details of our trnsfer to the airport. Our grandaughter is mixed race and I have never experienced the looks we constantly got from other holiday makers particularly the germans although the northerners were just as bad. We have always thought we would take our annual holidays in Majorca but after this year never again. We have always avoided the livelier resorts due to this type of problem. We work very hard and look forward to our holiday so we can unwind in peace. If this is the type of holiday you are looking for then this is not the resort for you, however if you like Blackpool, Skegness, Margate and Southend on Sea this would be right up your street. Thankyou Thomson Holidays for ruining a perfectly good holiday destination.

We returned this year to this 44 apartment complex with its own swimming pool and pool bar. It is very family friendly, particularly for those with younger children. We met up with families who were in the apartments last year, which was part of the appeal to our teenage granddaughters. The apartments are quiet and peaceful in the evening, but residents who want a lively atmosphere have access to the Floriana hotel complex on the opposite side of the road which provides evening entertainment and other facilities. We found this to be the best of both worlds. The sea front, restaurants and shops are a five minute walk away. The Thomson rep was very attentive and helpful. Augustin who runs the pool bar is a treasure.

This was a late booking and we were just looking forward to some sun and relaxation and we got both in plenty supply. The Bahia Azul Apartments surpassed my expectations. Externally the apartments and the grounds around them are maintained to the highest standard. Internally, we had a large balcony, a spacious living and dining area with a seperate kitchen for cooking and most importantly the apartment was very clean, which is not surprising, as the maid service is available 6 days a week. The pool area is also very clean and there are lots of sunbeds available throughout the day. The pool itself is a little small and there's not much chance of a proper swim however, it fulfills its purpose at the height of the afternoon when you need to take a quick dip to cool yourself down. There is a great pool snack bar available in the apartments and the only negative comment that I can make about it is that it isn't open a little later in the evening for drinks or even a bar meal, as the staff are so accomodating, the food is great and very reasonably priced. A 5minute walk down towards the town will take you to your nearest shop and from there a further two minutes and you are in the heart of Cala Bona. Lots of shops, bars and restaurants line the main promenade, just be ready to jump out of the way of the cycle lane which takes over much of the pavement and gets really busy in the height of summer. We loved the Xaloc Restaurant on the sea front just up from the marina, the staff were so friendly, helpful and certainly served up a great T-bone. The Chinese Restaurant just up from this was also very good and for a great Pizza in a lovely setting continue round the bay. My only disappointment was the beach, although it was very pretty, it was small and we were told that you had to be down there by at least 9.30am to ge guaranteed a sun lounger so unusually we decided to stay at the pool for teh duration of our holiday. However, if you are up for a small trip the beach in Sa Coma is beautiful with plenty of room for loungers and beach bums like us. All in all a fabulous break.
