Very disapointed with the hotel, have stayed here twice before once in the pelicanos once on the ocas,on arrival noted the ocas was closed.Pelicanos has gone down hill badly, although still very clean, there was what seemed a skeleton staff, the main bar was so expensive,it was ridiculous it certainly didnt tempt people to stay in the bar.The entertainment was like going to a kids birthday party lol.good job ther was plenty bars out and about. But the main complaints all came from the dining room,The dining room breakfast and evening was so uninviting.we might as well have been in a cafe on the main road, it just seemed so unkempt. The food was a disgrace at most meals. You are ok if you want chicken and chips.for every meal.who in spain with the abundance of friut and veg available uses tinned tomatoes???.In all honesty the meals were a disgrace.after speaking to the staff we were told more or less tough, the staff seemed so unintrested that we got the impression that after a day out we could go back and find the place shut,ok it was only three star and you get what you pay for but come on this was just a rip off.many many people who where staying ther told us they had to go out to eat often.as we certainly did at least three times.I would of thought that in this present climate Thomson would be checking to make sure there customers were happy so that maybe they would feel happy to book again.what has happened to customer service I have been on holiday with thomson several times, this was so very disapointing.I dont think the rep could of given a monkeys about any comments made to him,we got the impression he was embarrased by all the complaints he was getting, We do feel Thomson should address this issue urgently.

" Thank you for your review. We¿re sorry to hear your holiday with us was not up to our usual high standards. The Ocas being closed during the winter season should not have affected your stay. Prices in the main bar have not increased since 2008. The entertainment programme has not changed at the hotel offer live music and professional shows every night. These shows are suitable for all guests. The hotel offers a range of food for meal times. We are sorry you did not find this to your liking. The hotel guarantees that all employees do their best in order to be able to satisfy gusts needs. We are sorry that on this occasion you did not enjoy all aspects of your holiday with us. We will pass back your comments to the hotel management for their attention. "

We had a lovely stay at the Sol Pelicanos. The rooms were spotless and roomy, if a bit dated. Staff always friendly and helpful. The weather was fabulous for January, around 18-20 degrees, warm and sunny. The hotel is ideally situated, close to the beach and bars, which offered excellent entertainment. Look forward to returning next year.

we booked because we have stayed here many times in the past, this time, when you walked through the door you can smell the drains never noticed this in the past. the food was not good full stop, to the point that one night the only Veg that could be found was Broccoli and it was mush [always is], fresh fruit was fine but we did get a rotten orange one time. to top this off if you want to use the computers be prepaired to keep pumping cash into the money slot as they are charging 1euro for 7 mins of net time. try to find a bar that can give web time and it will be around 1euro for around 30 mins [half hour] if you need to be on for any length of time. a small bottel of coke will also cost 2euros [that a euro a mouth full]. the evening entertainment was total rubbish and played to only a hand full of people most of them were italian or belgian, the brits all went out bar hopping every night. if you look you can still find cheap beer in some bars. they make the benidorm program at this place but only use the pool area. if you are going to stock up on your tab's & backy note the prices have gone up golden virginia is now 67,50 a 10pack - lamberts are 41.00 a sleave - blacks 36.00 and turner is at= 49.50. prices are in euros... so save your pennies up cos you will need them. but the sunn was out through the day a bit on the chilly side at night. and the latest scam for the inian electric - camera shops is they are selling fake cam corders at only 39euros . they are all the same outer case but have various makers names on them, the one they show you works great but a bloke in the hotel had his returned twice to the shop as it stopped working both times he had to have a replacement as they wont give a refund

Stayed here in June, and loved every minute.Apart from our baby being poorly, but after ringing reception from our room, a doctor was knocking on our door 5 minutes later. The cons were that the entertainment wasnt too good, the food was the same every day, some staff were miserable in reception, and were just horrible in the restaurant. Also its no good if you have anyone whos disabled in your party, or if you have a baby in a pushchair. Access to the pool area is herrendous, lots and lots of steps, and no ramps. The pool area is fantastic. Weve stayed at many hotels in Benidorm and this has by far the best pool. No scrambling for sun loungers, its fabulous. Drinks and snacks are quite expensive from pool bars, so better buying water from shop and taking it to pool. Will save a lot of euros. Overall though, an enjoyable holiday.

We stayed at the Sol Ocas for a week in September, mainly because we knew they were filming the series Benidorm here at the time. I'd say the Ocas was the better hotel to stay in as it was much quieter and relaxed as the dining room of the Pelicanos resembled a jumble sale with pushing and shoving! The pool area was immaculate with plenty of sunbeds, as were the rooms. The rooms are linked throught the air con vents though, so you can hear straight into everyone elses bathroom etc, so i'd recommend ear plugs if you want to get any sleep! The food....we went half board, and at breakfast there was a massive choice from full english breakfast to fruit, croissants cereals etc-if you can't find anything you must be overly picky! At lunch and dinner however, (you can swap your dinner for lunch if you want to) as vegetarians all we could find to eat was salad, chips and cheap cheese and tomatoe pizza for the first 2 nights, not much value for the £13.00 each the meal was costing us!!! on the 3rd night we ventured out in search of dinner, only to find all the restuarants closed around 6, and there was nothing except chip shops open...back to the hotel for pizza and chips! On the 4th night onward however there wasnt even the pizza so all we had to eat was salad and cold chips!!!! Not impressed!!!! If you are a meat eater however, there was a massive choice-how good it tasted though i could not say. On the whole i'd saY this was a good hotel-but dont stay here if you're a vegetarian! I'd also advise to bring an umberella-when it rains here it really rains!!!
