So the Hotel we stayed at isn't listed above?! It was the Club Rosa Rivage in Skanes.
First off we were checked into a room at 2:30am and told we had to come back at 10am to get the keys for the room we would be staying in for the rest of our visit. This made us feel a little unsure of what was going on, the next morning we were told it was ok to stay in the room for the week. The staff seemed like they weren't really sure what was going on either. There was no information regarding the hotel or facilities in the room, so it was very hard to work out when food was to be served and what was available to us. The staff spoke little English and would often revert to German to explain things, great if you're German or can understand it but sadly we couldn't! The room was fairly clean, the food was great and the resort grounds were clean and well maintained.
We met the Thomson rep the first morning who seemed nice and bubbly. We had already booked an excursion at home for the Monday and had a bit of money to spend on another day out. There was a safe in the room which we were told that morning by the rep we need to pay 15 dinar to use. Mid afternoon on our first day we went back to our room to freshen up and sort out money for the safe. My partner noticed his iPod and headphones were missing from his bag, we searched everywhere with no luck. He then noticed £40 was missing from his wallet. This is anyone's worst holiday nightmare, when we reported the theft to the Thomson rep she did the necessary paper work and said to check when we got home if we had the right insurance. There seemed little compassion from her and from then on we seemed to be more of a hindrance to her, she clearly hadn't been trained in dealing with these problems and didn't really care when I said I felt unsafe in the Hotel. We weren't offered any help money wise and were left to get on with our holiday we paid the 15 dinar 'deposit' to use the safe which was never offered back when we checked out!
As I mentioned above we did have an excursion booked through Thomson this was the Camel Caravan, we waited outside to be picked up for an hour after no sign of a coach we called the 247 Holidayline who seemed more compassionate and helpful then the rep. No one was sure what happened but we were reimbursed the money.
Overall we enjoyed the food, pool and sun but felt the staff were unhelpful, thieves and the rep only wanted to know if you were having a good time and needs proper training.
We have just spent a week at this hotel and we definitely feel that it is not a 4* plus as stated in the brochure. It is only a 3 star (at a push). It is in the middle of nowhere and there is nothing local to visit (places of interest, shops, bars etc), so you feel very restricted as if you decide to go for a walk the only place you can go is the airport. The airport is 2 mins from the hotel you can watch the planes take off from the hotel (even seeing people in the windows)! The bedroom was very poor it had cracked tiles on the floor, the rugs were filthy, the bath was broken and the television would not work as there was no remote control all over looking some waste ground. We asked to move rooms in the hotel but we were told that we would be charged! The restaurant has 2 sittings which you must stick to. Several times we went to the restaurant and dirty table cloths were still on the tables and the food choice was very limited, not very warm and not presented in a very nice way.Entertainment - the team was very amateurish and was definitely not of the same standard that we have seen in other 4* plus hotels. All in all, I wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
