The flight from Bristol departing 14.55 on 31 March was delayed by at least 20 mins outbound and on the return the same problem caused almost a 60 min delay. When we arrived in the hotel by about 21.30 the restaurant staff appeared rushed off their feet and did not really provide the level of service expected from a 4* hotel. The food during the week was satisfactory at best, but the large volume of guests in a premium Easter holiday period were not catered for very well at all. The atmosphere in the restaurant resembled a school /college caffeteria due to the hustle and bustle and the lack of attentiveness of restaurant staff. The quality of food was generally satisfactory.
Our room was at the far end of a very long corridor and it took on average at least 7 mins to walk to the main core of the hotel where the reception, dining areas and bars were located. The bedroom itself, though located in an inconvenient position, was spacious with a huge king size and comfortable bed. The domestic staff were excellent and cleaned the room to a very high standard daily. Reception staff appeared pleasant but were generally unresponsive to requests for assistance or queries.
The external grounds were extensive and there was a good distribution of available sunbeds. The swimming pools were well maintained but rarely used because they were not heated.
The evening entertainment programme was weak and poorly attended.
Overall we did not think that the hotel provided value for money and we will not be returning.
Arriving at the hotel late thurs 26th which we could,nt fault hotel or staff .Recieving letter from the rep on fri the 27th to say the pool would close on the evening of the 29th for one week for repairs but only to find it closed on the morning of the 29th. Due to the noise level from the tools the dirt & dust & the wind the conditions were terrible . We were only there for one week relaxing holiday due to having very stressful jobs which it was not & were forced to go to the beach. Our holiday cost £1500 and we would been as well at a building site. To finish it off when ready to board the plane there was a fault in the plane and was delayed for 3 hours to which no one could apologise for till we where landing at glasgow.
