My family and I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks in July 2010. We had to changed room 3 times. We had Bed & Breakfast accomodation, the first day we went down we were shocked by it and never returned to breakfast again. This was my 6th time to marmaris and the worst place that we stayed.
Flight transfer and bookin into hotel all went well. The receptionist couldnt give us a double bed but did change our room to a pool view.Second day the hotel hair dryer was cutting out.Straight away a new hair dryer was bought for me,that broke within about ten minutes so the next day the in house maintance man fixed me one.We had a bulb go,it was replaced straight away.We had pushed two single beds together so the maids put double fitted sheeets on for us.We could not fault the maid service for bed making and changing towels but I did notice on about the fourth day that there were spashes on the sink and the glass shelf above the sink had never been cleaned so I removed everything off the shelf to see if they cleaned it but they didnt so I did it myself. There wasnt much choise in the meals, some I enjoyed but due to them being served to your plate you got very little. One day my partener got 3 chicken nugets and a 16 chips,he went back for seconds and got 2 nuggets and less chips. We filled up on soup and bread.Turkish bread is lush but this wasnt. On average the staff were very nice but we saw the other side of most of them. The kitchen staff were a good laugh, they waitered the tables, what a boring job, smiled and had a joke though all of the time so why couldnt the rest? The guy with the long hair that did the entertainment was great,so was his scotish wife and baby LUCAS,what a plesant wee boy.The boss lady Sarah was always about and athough quiet I found her very aproachable, her little neice was lovely, one review said she was a pest, she wasnt, she was very quiet and friendly.I made her my friend,so did many others. The police came one day and closed the bar and entertainment for three days,we wernt told why.On opening the staff gave us a great nite of entertainment finishing by us all jumping into the pool. The all inclusive drinks were so watered down that you could hardly drink them.Stick to red wine.Lots had a problem with the inclusive light, meant you could only have free drinks at meal times unless you up graded for a 5 a day.It caused ruptions. If you wanted a sun bed then you had to be up early as there were only 55 and the staff put them out about 5.30 in the morning and they were putting towels out for the people they had been socialising with the night before.Once it was made known to reception that we were aware this stopped. We forgot our geordie towels, mailed the hotel but they havent replied? It Could be a perfect hotel.Billy n Sue from Newcastle
Arrived at 6am on the Saturday and were directed to a double room set up as a triple. We had about 20cm between each beds, no towels and the bathroom had obviously not been cleaned. We were later told by a member of the bar that he set up the room at last minute. We were then given a proper triple room, which was alot nicer and cleaner.
The food was repetitive, full of carbs but generally edible (if you have the patience to remove bone/egg shell etc). The soup was always very watery, and often the food was cold.
We found the staff to be excellend - only ones that we had a problem with were a greasy haired one who for some god forsaken reason was given a microphone, and the chef who decided that it was acceptable to tell me that I should use skin lightening cream to get rid of my freckles as they were, in his words, ugly. I reported this to another member of staff and a rep, and he turned very aggressive.
All inclusive drinks were fine... vodka, gin, & raki. Didn't seem to feel the effects of the vodka - questioned that it may be watered down, but I looked at the labelling (40%) and often saw the bar guys opening new bottles.
Another problem we experienced, which was not necessarily the fault of the hotel, were that some of the children staying at the hotel seemed to take over the bar - literally. A gobby 12 year old decided that I looked like I wanted a vodka, whilst his irritating counterparts begged us constantly for empty glasses. The hotel should've done more to prevent this and ensure that ALL guests could have a good time.
