My husband and I spent 2 weeks in this lovely hotel during May. The hotel is down a side street, just off the busy main road. Easy walking distance for the train and bus station, main square and about 20 minute stroll to the port for boat trips. Regular and cheap travel to places such as Pompei (train stops opposite the entrance to the historic site), buses to Amalfi (get the earliest one as it's popular), train to Naples and other smaller towns, boat to the islands (Capri is a must!). The helpful hotel reception will give you travel info. Fautless hospitality and good traditional Italian food in the hotel. There is an abundance of great eating places around Sorrento city but PLEASE pick one where the locals are eating and not the first touristy ones you come across as the food is just AMAZING! The hotel is spotlessly clean with several bed changes a week and daily clean towels. TV channels are limited but who honestly goes on holiday to watch the telly!! There is a great little fruit shop directly opposite the hotel entrance that also sells useful things such as tea bags and bottled water. Please do try the fruit on sale there. The oranges are to die for!! I often bought fresh tomatoes to have with my hotel evening meal...delicious! There's nothing much to do in or around the hotel itself and the pool area is very small, but this is a city hotel and no more or less than we expected as going out to see the sights is our main aim. Some Thomson guests complained to us that the food wasn't 'English' enough for them! Astounding when you consider they were in Italy and not Blackpool!!!!
