QUOTE FROM FIRST CHOICE/THOMSON - '' OUR HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE TEAM IS AWARE THAT SOME OF OUR CUSTOMERS HAVE NOT BEEN SATISFIED WITH THE STANDARD OF THE ROOMS IN THIS SECTION OF THE HOTEL'' We stayed at the Palm Wings for a week in the summer and are still in dispute with First Choice. The complex is divided into two main sections - one with bungalows which appear very nice and then there is a hotel building at the end of the complex designed for conference accommodation. The rooms are ridiculously small ( less than 12 sq meters in the main part ) with no balcony and overlooking a tin roof and across to other rooms. We had two rooms and in the second room was a camp bed that was broken and it took 2 days to get it replaced - the hotels solution was to put a mattress on the floor and hope that was ok for our daughter to sleep on!!! (First choice have offered us a seventy pounds voucher which they consider sufficient for sleeping on the floor for 2 nights out of 7). There is no staffed reception in the main building. When we complained about the room we were told that we could move in a couple of days at our own expense!! At the time of complaining there were at least 5 other families complanining about the rooms also. I queried if they considered the rooms to be of a 4T /five star standard and they declined to comment - however i did receive a letter from the customer serice department last month which quoted '' OUR HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE TEAM IS AWARE THAT SOME OF OUR CUSTOMERS HAVE NOT BEEN SATISFIED WITH THE STANDARD OF THE ROOMS IN THIS SECTION OF THE HOTEL''. In fairness and to give a balanced viewed, the resort facilities are very good, the pools are great, the private beach is lovely and the food is very good - don't expect chips with everything which is great - excellent salads, cold meats and fruits plus grilled fish etc. The rooms whilst extremely small are kept clean. Also, the entertainment staff are great and the spa is superb. To summarise - DO NOT STAY IN THE HOTEL ROOMS IF YOU REALLY WANT TO ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAY. Room Tip: Do not stay in the hotel rooms - choose a bungalow.. Stayed August 2012, travelled with family
