Brilliant weather, super Hotel, very nice polite staff at Panormos. Beaches in Altinkum gorgeous, usual array of shops resturants. Note...lots of street dogs around, I volunteered at the council dog shelter to do some dog walking, there they are spayed or neutured then returned to the streets. there is a marked improvement in their numbers already but these beautiful dogs need understanding, not condeming. They have a hard life and usually one kind word and they almost smile at you. Please look on them kindly, we need to show the turkish people the kindness that these creatures need. They are amazing. please check out the Didim dog shelter fb page to follow their progress and a big thankyou to all that show compassion to them.
hotel location good for being out of the town, no entertainment in the hotel except table tennis and pool, and you can only play so much of that, nothing for kids of any ages to do except swim, rooms clean but tatty, basic and in desperate need of referbishment, smoking allowed in rooms and one of ours smelt so strong of stale tobacco smoke doors had to be left open most of the time. moans out of the way, the staff were very friendly loved small kids, took notice of them all the time, hotel rooms were cleaned regularly towels and hairdryer provided, would recomend "Arti and Roca" for good food, if on a tight budget you would be better of going to eat at the turkish end of altinkum as it is so much cheaper, market worth a look as are the shops but you must barter of you will be ripped of big time. appolo temple worth a vist and only a 10 min dolmus ride away, 3 lira to get in and you can take in some good history, food opposide in cafe very good as well, all in all would go again but maybe not to the same hotel until its been refurbished
