When we arrived at the hotel/apartments at 4.30am first impressions were not brilliant. Unfortunately my partner and I didn't seem to be very lucky. We got the one room that hadn't been cleaned thoroughly, the toilet didn't flush, the bathroom door did not close/lock properly and the aircon which we had just paid extra for did not work. We asked to move rooms but we were told no and to put up with it until a more reasonable time of the morning. We had two single beds and they were rock hard. (Ask your Thomson Rep for extra pillows as you only get one!) We had a very hot and uncomfortable night's attempt of sleep and were ready for breakfast at 8.30am. We went without access to our room for the entire first day but we didn't have much of a choice so we parked ourselves outside on a sunbed by the pool. Breakfast - if you have chosen B&B is very basic be aware. (Boiled eggs, Olives, Cucumber, Tomatoes, Bread, Plain Cereal Tea, Coffee and Fruit Juices) Facilities of the Hotel were very good and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There is a pool table, Table Tennis, swimming pool, sunbeds, internet access, bar and restaurant. There are unlimited places to eat, drink and shop. We were there for two weeks and ate dinner somewhere different each night. If money gets tight however the Hotel offers a very reasonabley priced menu for lunch and dinner. If you book some trips I would be very careful and research them before and talk to people to see how there experience was we went on one called the Moonlight Cruise - sounded romantic, but it was far from it! The weather when we went was 42 degrees plus each day which was lovely but you need to be sensible in the sun and wouldn't reccomend this holiday if you don't want to be in the sun much. Nearly all the guests at the Sinem Hotel were english and returning for their second or third year. We made some friends out there and I beleive that we would definately go back. Also remember to haggle for nearly everything! It's amazing the deals you can get on some trips / items / clothing. To sum up - I think that the trips were a life experience which we thoroughly enjoyed. The food in some places was AMAZING. Minder's Restaurant near the Hotel offers an authentic Turkish atmosphere and food. Alcoholic drinks such as the local beer Effes was cheap and refreshing also. The people are friendly and helpful. Turkey is great! However, would I stay at the Sinem Hotel again? No.

We booked the Sinem Hotel a week before travelling and had never visited Turkey before. We were i think a little disappointed when we arrived in the early hours of the morning to see the hotel, but that all changed the following morning, The hotel is clean, the staff are the best you will find anywhere and you are made to feel extremely welcome. If and when we visit Turkey again we would not consider staying anywhere else but the Sinem Hotel.

We stayed at the Sinem Hotel in Marmaris, Turkey. The hotel had good reviews on the Thomson website being described as family run and friendly, which is true. We became confused by the star and sun rating. This hotel is definitely not 3 star and is enjoyed by regular guests who go there every year to sit around the pool all day and stay up drinking to the early hours. We averaged 4 hours sleep per night due to doors slamming and rowdy behaviour. We had one evening meal at the hotel and it certainly was not up to restaurant standard. Other interesting features were the glass door on the bathroom so you can still see your partner on the toilet and if you wish to watch TV there is a communal one in the breakfast area. The towels are replaced twice a week and presumably the room is cleaned at the same time. The Thomson representative was always helpful and interested if you wanted to book a trip. We booked to go to Ephesus which was fantastic and our guide on the trip was first rate. The rep sent us a little card before we left, reminding us to tick her excellent box in the review on the flight home. Unfortunately we were too tired. Overall, taking into consideration the cost of the holiday we got what we paid for. A cheap 1-2 star hotel ideal for people on a low budget.
