I don't normally leave reviews but wanted to add my experience to help others considering this hotel. The hotel is in an excellent location and was clean and tidy. All the staff (except one) were really friendly and helpful. The rooms were cleaned every day apart from Sunday. The food was OK, nowhere near as bad as some people have said in the reviews. You have to remember this is a 3 star hotel. Now the bad bits... this hotel is not suitable if you have young children. There isn't any entertainment in the day AT ALL, there is a little bit fenced off in the pool area for the nippers but all this contained was a wendy house, a few traffic cones and some tables and chairs and the gap under the gate was big enough for my little monster to crawl underneath and escape! The pool area was up a fair amount of steps which was difficult with a pushchair. The All Inclusive status is a bit of a joke really... The pool bar which is supposed to serve snacks between meal times served only 3 sandwiches, ham cheese, cheese onion (if they remember to put the onion on) or Tuna (on tiny slices of dry bread with no butter), you got a few crisps with them but that was it, no other snacks available. There was a freezer with small pots of ice cream and a few ice lollys in but these were only available when the pool bar was open. There wasn't any squash for the kids, only fizzy drinks off the pump which is fine if you dont mind your kids drinking fizzy pop all day but our son is only 21 months old so not suitable at all. The website states good entertainment programme and this could not be further from the truth, it was absolute rubbish and as there are no TV's in the room this made our evenings very difficult with a toddler. Also bear in mind that even though this is described as a family friendly hotel they do allow group bookings of all girl/boy groups we were woken by drunken lads/lasses returning home into the very early hours shouting and singing (and in one case screaming after a fight with her friends!). Overall the hotel was OK but felt somewhat mislead by Thomson regarding the suitability of the hotel for children. My advice if you have young children is to book somewhere else.

for the first four nights we were in a room opposite the lift which no one seemed to be able to close quietly we were constantly woken both night and morning.asked to move and the staff were great and moved us within the hour. As the hotel is due to close for the winter in a couple of weeks i think they were clearing out the pantry and the freezer as the menu was very random/stange food combinations but it was all tasty and wellcooked.all the staff we very nice and helpfull.all in all we had a good time and the tropico playa is a no frills value for money hotel in a great location.my only complaint is that i had to phone your helpline to find out what time pick up was for the return journey no information had been put on the notice board the rep turned up after i had made the call this was at seven in the evening when we were leaving the next morning i think most people would like 24hours notice.i also think that your flight staff deserve madals for patience for putting up some passengers there was one man on our flight who was rude and obnoxious all the way home i told him to sit down and shut up it takes a lot to make confront people but he was annoying everyone around him and iwas sick off hearing him moaning.
