Just recently got back from this hotel after being highly regarded. A group of 11 lads on a boys holiday in maga. The hotel location, is firstly up a massive hill, it kills you, especially walking from the beach. The location is no-where near BCM (a good 15-20min walk especially after being pestered by the strip bars)and is at the very very end of magaluf and a few mins walk away from the strip (Its in Palma Nova). The hotel before you reach the strip from Solovento is actually called PALMANOVA! so be warned for a lot of walking! The hotel staff are very strict,(inspected our room for a good 10mins before getting our deposit back) and unless you buy anything from the reps, they treat you like dirt. When we stated that we purchased tickets else-where for the Pirate show, their response was that we had been had, that we payed over the price odds and we wont be guaranteed seats next to eachother. unfortunatly for the reps, we actually all sat together and had pretty awesome seats at a much cheaper rate!! Apart from also being called perocative names, the reps seemed more intrested in the next drink and person to have fun with rather than help us find out information on our departer (we are fully up for reps enjoying themselves, and having fun, its magaluf for crying out loud! but one or two of them were just taking the....) You only get towels every 2-3 days aswell, with 1 towel to last 2/3 days per person, so not the best for a 4 star thomson hotel and the rooms are cleaned (by cleaned, i mean new bed sheets) every 4 days! Magaluf its self was a great holiday, especially for the atmosphere, cheap drink and all around fun to be had. the food at the hotel was pretty cheap and the bar staff were also good. The dissapointing thing was that the little things of the reception staff/thomson reps and location really maked the holiday that little bit annoying. It was a fantastic holiday and everything else was perfect apart from these little problems. Just sort the little things out and your onto a winner

We were a group of four 18-25year olds on a lads holiday to magaluf, we stayed at the Sotavento Apartments and im so glad we did! Everything is provided at this hotel! the reps will get you on as many activities as you can handle (make sure you go and see Pirates!), but you can always just rest up by the pool whilst listening to the lastest summer tunes played by the live poolside DJ. Literally 100m away is the start of the magaluf strip which is full of bars and clubs which runs paralell to the beautiful magaluf beach which has probably some of the best resturants ive ever eaten at! Our reps Tony and Nicky were always at hand if we needed anything and were always up for a laugh! met loads of great people and had alot of funny times on this holiday and i would go back and stay at Sotavento again tomorrow given the chance! the only thing to watch out for is the 80euro deposit the reception ask for at check-in, it was fine for us between 4 people but could be a holiday killer if theres only two of you for a week or weekend!

Went to sotavento with 4 friends aged between 18 and 21 in June 2008. The hotel was gorgeous!!! Never expected it to be that nice. The reps were brilliant and the price of the activity ticket was excellent at 200 euros for lots of fun things (booze cruise, BCM, waterpark, foam party and lots more). The food here was excellent and so were the prices. Would absolutely love to go back, only problem is the prices have gone up loads from last year, but still considering it!!! I would recommend to anyone who loves to party!!! =]

Stayed in Sotavento in June 2008, went with 3 friends! The apartments are in the PERFECT location, but beware, they're on the top of a HUGE hill, we weren't told until we got there! Once your down the hill, the main strip is pretty much there! Beach is close by as well! Rooms are very very basic, not 100% clean either but hey, you can't expect it to be perfect! Bar is nice, food is okay, well priced! Pool was okay, they normally play music around the pool during the day, but can get really crowded so its best to just head down the beach! Recommend you go to BCM and Bananas! And the booze cruises that leave the beach everyday are always good! ENJOY!
