Just returned from an excellent trip to Jamaica. We have stayed at a number of Caribbean hotels but never in one as good as this. There's little to be said other than don't miss the opportunity to stay here, the rooms, food, service and facilities are of the highest standard and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
As a comparison, I have stayed in the Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa four times and there is no way that I would consider returning, having now stayed at the GP Lady Hamilton.
My only complaint was was the Thomson tour rep who tried to frighten newcomers into only booking tours with her. We thought her behaviour outrageous. She even told us tell to her if we were leaving the hotel AND wanted to know where we were going and with whom.
She clearly did not appreciate independent travellers, particularly if they arranged private transfers and drivers!
Oh, and she also insisted that we all put that the travel rep was excellent when we filled out the questionnaire on the return flight! I don't think so!
I have never been to jamica this was are first time. It was all that i thought it would be . Room was lovely cleaned every day clean towels every day piloows a little hard but hay if thats all i have to complain about then thats not bad is it . I Always go 4 Star or 5 Star and this hotel was lovely. i would take swimming shoes as on the first day i stepped on something and had a spike in my food . The life guard was great and got it out No it did not spoil my holiday , Food was great fresh w tryed all the restrants and got in them easy. Yes i put on the waight but hay its my holiday . pool was lovely the little beaches were great .Weather was fab all staff were nice. would i go back there yes i would . went on trips went hourse riding in the see that was fab the waterfalls were fab to I cant wait to return and would go back to same hotel.
The daily activities were well organised and catered for teenies, teens and adults. The staff ensured that all children were well cared for, and encouraged to take part in activities.
The food was excellent, as the restaurants catered for a wide range of dietary requirements, and all food was made fresh each day. A lot of the food in the self service restaurant was cooked to your own requirements.
This is my 2nd visit, and I think I may do a 3rd one, as I had not managed to experience all the facilities the hotel offers - ie spa, fitness room and snorkeling.
We wanted a relaxing first class holiday. Sadly this was not the case. The overall noise was unacceptable. We don't mind music but at a reasonable level. At one point there were 3 really loudspeaker bands playing at the same time. You couldn't even think let alone talk. When we spoke to night manager through the noise he said he would discuss it in his meeting. There was no improvement. The look of the resort was great but the service was appalling. At one time we had water pouring through our bathroom ceiling. After 2 1/2 hours and four contacts with reception know one even bothered to come to look. We cleared up the flood ourselves. The restaurant was a joke. Often there were 25people queuing to go into the buffet restaurants even though there were many empty tables. Yes after 10 days and lots of discussions with our rep we were eventually offered an upgrade. This was lovely and we had four days of relaxing. We feel sorely let down by the hotel and especially thomson. It felt like we were in The Lady Hamilton Grand Palladium for 2 months but only got a 4 day holiday. We were given £100 refund on a holiday that cost thousands. Shame on you Thomson.
