My sister and I were dubious about staying at the hotel after reading several reviews regarding a sickness epidemic at the hotel. The hotel was just lovely and the room allocated to us was comfortable and clean. Take note of how many bottles of drink there are in your fridge (or even ask the front desk to remove them if you don't want this an option) as they tried to charge us for taking something when we hadn't. We tended to use the fridge to keep our free bottles of water cold. The pool was fantastic and can be busy at times. You will not be allowed to reserve a bed using your towel unless you remain there. We found at 7.30 it started to get busy. You get a towel card when you arrive and this allows you to get a clean pool towel every day. So you can leave your pool towels at home. You do get a bit of hassle the first day you arrive from people trying to sell you trips. If you aren't interested you just say so and they leave you alone afterwards. Food in the restaurant was great. A fabulous selection and every day had a different theme. Fresh cooked pasta at lunch and evening meal time. We loved the food especially the bread. Entertainment in the evening is low key as described in the brochure but fun all the same. There are some shops within hotel but worthwhile taking a short walk outside as you will find things much cheaper if you haggle. The hotel offers a free taxi to the beach which is just in front of the sister hotel Tropicana Grand Azure. Just get your free token from the reception desk and wait outside the front of the hotel. You can walk but it gets quite hot. The beach is clean with beds and parasols and privacy screens and the sea is gorgeous and clear. I would recommend if you are going snorkeling or walking that you get some beach shoes or daps. Its a little sharp in places. We had a wonderful time and even sampled the evening bbq at the pool bar one night (extra cost but worth it) and tried some Shisha for the first time. I am also thankful to Thomson who looked after us when the plane unfortunately needed to divert to Rimini in Italy in the small hours of the morning, as a passenger required urgent medical attention. It was a worrying time for all and although it took some time to arrange, they sorted out free accommodation, transfers and meals until we could get the next flight out. We would love to go back soon and will definately be booking with Thomson again.
This hotel was fantastic. the staff were very good could not do enough for you. The pool was good for the children and they had there own pool with slide. There always seemed tobe attendants watching over the pool. The pool attendants always managed to get a sun bed or us if we couldnt find one. The animation team tried there best to get people involved and there was evening entertainmant. The only thing was only one night there was a disco after the evening show . it would have been nice if this occurred each night because when the show finished there was only sitting and drinking.
I was a little dissappointed that ice cream was not available as part of the all inclusive. It was a little poor with the cakes and snacks. The snack pool bar was more of 2 star quality. The local spirits did not taste of the national brands what so ever and were undrinkable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Make customers aware of illegal selling of trips around the pool. Overall clean and tidy. Not as nice as other hotels of 4 star standard that I have stayed at in the same resort.
My daughter and I have just returned from this hotel. The pool, the rooms & the staff were all superb, our only disappointment was the meals. The food was bland and tastless. It was of very poor quality which was very sad because everything else was good.
After reading the previous reviews I was concerned about the hotel especially the food. After a fantastic 2 weeek holiday I can honestly say the hotel is spotlessly clean. The management employ an English lady called Suzie who supervises the cleaning staff to ensure a high standard of cleanliness. She is also responsible for ensuring all food available in the resturaunt is served at the correct temperature. Throughout the hotel staff are extremly welcoming and helpful. My only grumbles is regarding the lack of ice-cream available at meal times and although there is a great pub called the Three crowns nearby, the Hotel only serve local drinks. Would be nice have the option of buying known branded drinks. If a full English breakfast is what tickles your fancy visit Churchills which is opposite the hotel entrance.
