We went as a family of 9 (3 children) and where extremly happy when we arrived at the villa, its beautiful and roomy, we could not get over how big everything was (especially the pool) which was excellent! Its was cleaned twice in our 7 days there, the pool guys where nice and quickly got out of your way again. The shop/cafe about two minuites away was a brilliant help, and cheap. The only down side to this villa is the beds (so uncomfortable), and the local dogs barking all night, but waking up in that villa and going outside seems to make up for it all, honeslty fantastic. If you go please be cafefull when getting out of the pool or bath because the tiles are lethal, we had quite a few injurys! BBQ area is also excellent. We went to Zoomarine and the beach which were fantastic days out, kids loved it, always seemed great to get back to the villa though, like going home after a hard days work haha. Local oranges are beautiful in a morning, definantly worth buying a bag. Also sensible to filter your bath/showers out within the family as the water tank on the roof is not massive and is heated by the days sun, so it can cause a problem at bedtime if everyone is attempting to have one all at once! There are shutters on all the windows and the gates at the bottom of the drive are a brilliant asset as the kids could run wild without getting out onto the main road.

This villa is just as good for 2 as for a large family and is priced very competitively for just 2-person occupancy. Super pool pool area - great for me to stay out there all day - bar and shop close enough (3 doors away!) for my husband to use without needing the car. Garden very interesting - you can pick the fruit if you are there at the right time of year! Restaurant O Barco good as ever - great fish selection - been visiting there for 20 years on and off and quality still good. Also recommend Sao Domingoes restaurant in Vale da Parra, but there are plenty of others, especially in Guia. On down-side, have noticed that ALL restaurant prices have increased substantially over past 5 years or so (Euro rates, increased taxes etc.) so find we do more self-catering than we used to in order to control budget - however local produce is still generally good value. AlgarveShopping is good for larger shopping with Hypermarket and Food Hall. Noticeable that there are far more independant shops in the mall than you would generally find in a UK mall. A car definitely makes life easier but our rentals have always included the car anyway. Another reviewer says that the photos don't do the villa justice and I agree, but having reviewed my own photos I can see it isn't easy. Because the property has such a large footprint, including many mature trees, you just can't get it into one photo!

I work for the Co-operative Travel and booked this villa through Thomson for me and my family. We were plesantly surprised when we arrived as it was better than expected and the owner was very polite to us and let us in the villa early. The Villa is spilt into two sections with kitchen, bathroom and living room in each side, which is perfect if you have two families travelling together (This is not stated in the brochure). One side of the villa has four bedrooms the other has two. The whole villa is furnised at a high standard with everything you need including iron, washing machine and a well equipped kitchen. The only thing which bothered me was that the beds were not overally comfortable, but this did not ruin the holiday. The swimming pool area is brilliant including sunbeds, table and chairs with parasol and an outside shower, also there is a barbeque outside but unfortunately we did not use it. The pool was cleaned out whilst we was there, so was always kept clean. There is a supermarket and restaurant next door to the villa which is very handy, although I would reccommend you need to hire a car as personally I would get fed up going to the same restaurant every night. Everything we wanted was only a short drive away including the beach, main area of Albufeira, waterparks and the Zoomarine. Others had mentioned that they were broken into whilst staying at this Villa which did make us very cautious, but we were instructed to lock the gates whenever we left the villa, which were very secure, and shut all windows so we had no problems and we all felt safe. Travelling with an infant can be a worry but there was everything my nephew needed there, including a highchair, cot and changing mat. The Villa is near the road but this did not bother us and there were fences all around so it is a child friendly villa. Overall we had a fantastic holiday with 7 of us and a infant we found it very spacious, with no need to use to other side of the villa. I would recommend this to any family who are looking for a villa in Portugal. To be Honest I don't think the pictures in the brochure does not do the Villa much justice, its much better in the flesh. From a Travel Agents point of view.

excellent villa! Split into two seperate houses. Pool excellent. Great barbecue area. If you want away from the noise of the pool there is a quiet area with a nice swing at back of the villa!! A couple of mins walk from the villa is a great supermarket/caffee wich was absolutley dirt cheap... 1.80euro for a bottle of beer!! Tthe restaurant right beside the villa wasnt very nice at all. Service was good but food was great! Watch the slippery tiles getting in and out of the multicoloured bathroom in the villa....and also the low beams of the upstairs rooms!!! Had many a sore bump on those. A taxi will take you into albufiera but beware.... as taxis are few and very far between where the villa is situated. We ended up hiring 2 minibuses to pick us up every night (speak to your rep). Old town was brill but albufiera itself is just like blackpool with the sun. Wasnt our cup of tea!!went to the waterpark....brlliant day out....slides wer fantastic and the kids loved it!! pool was cleaned once on our weeks stay and the owners are really nice, helpfull people. Also worth a visit is villamoura, this is a beautifull marina resort, with lots of lovelley restaurants and even nicer yachts! Well worth a visit. All in all, the best thing about our holiday in portugal was the villa. Would love to go back to the villa, but sadly, not to portugal.
