what an absolutley fantastic hotel!! excellent comfort the rooms were fantastic, the cleaner was a lovely women everyone was friendly the ouside veiew was excellent the only thing not so good was the breakfast although i only ate it twice just didnt enjoy it but me and my partner are kinda fussy. the location was excellent ther is a shop next door and an excellent ice cream parlour, we went on most of the trips the one to turkey was good but the best bit was the hamam i didnt really see the hype with the market but the food was good, the evening trip to zia was beautiful and the little greek taverna was wonderful with great views of the terrific sunset, all in all a fantastic holiday hopeing to go back in 2010 oh and one last thing sitting on the balcony at night was fantastic listen to the waves havin a drink pure bliss!!!

Stayed at the Aktis in July 2008. Everything absolutely fabulous!! The view from the room was out to sea and of Turkey in the distance, always something to look at from the balcony. The room was spacious, clean (cleaner was funny and waited for you to leave room before entering). With all mod cons. The hotel is only a 10 minute stroll into old town Kos which is a beautiful place. There is a typically british area with lots of bars open until the early hours if that's what you like, but also a bit further on a lovely square with quaint side streets with shops and lovely restaurants to suit every taste. Loved the Ciao Cafe for lunch, glass or two of retsina with some calamari, Greek salad or a sandwich to watch the world go by. Also did a boat trip to Bodrum in Turkey for a day, at 15 euros per person its rude not to. If you go to Kos the Aktis is definitely the place to be!!! It has everything you'll ever need for a luxurious and relaxing holiday.

A beautiful boutique hotel that more than exceeded our expectations and the brochure descriptions. Incredible, spacious rooms, full of gadgets and designer fittings. All rooms are sea facing and as such you have stunning views from your balcony across the Aegian Sea to Turkey, as well as the sound of waves crashing against the beach below. Attentive and friendly service whether it be from the receptionists, bar and restaurant staff or the housekeepers that keep your room clean and spotless for you. H2O, the hotel's bar restaurant and terrace is THE place to be seen of an evening, full of the local in-crowd, but friendly and relaxed nevertheless. Prices though can be a bit steep, compared to the rest of Kos Town, but remember apart from Bella Vista (bar) and Taverna Avra (both next door) this is the ONLY hotel and restaurant in Kos Town directly on the beach, all the rest are separated by the busy main road. Although the hotel doesn't have it's own beach, there are decent municiple beaches either side, and Taverna Avra will rent you sunbeds and a brolly for 6 Euros a day. The Hotel is very centrally located, and is within easy striking distance of the Old Town and all it has to offer. You're never more than 10 minutes from anywhere really. Our recommendations would be Taverna Avra (next to the hotel) for sunbeds, lunch or dinner. Excellent location, good food and good prices and friendly service from Alex Antoniou. Don't miss Taverna Agora in Ag Paraskevis, shaded by the big tree. Good local food, keenly priced and laid back service, don't miss the mix grill for two! For something a bit more pricey, try Otto e Mezzo, on Aperlou, for good pasta and other Italian favourites. During the day check out Suedo (next to the Olympic Airways office) for European cakes and pastries. In the evening try Caffe Passegio, again on Aperlou for pre / post dinner drinks. Don't be fooled by the pre-bookable trips. You can book anything locally for less, or even do it yourself. We had a very pleasant stroll up to Asklepio 6K out of town, and back again.
