Arrived in the dark, the airport management was diabolical no organisation communication problems and lots of people very confused . Arrived at hotel confusion with baggage and process of checking in no rep. Could of been better organised. Not a 5 star hotel. The hotel is what I would describe as tired. Areas around the pool needed maintenance, tiles came off and were laying on the bottom of the pool and pool edging stones were loose and became dislodged. Acquiring a sunbed was comical people were actually putting their towels on sunbeds the night before as we would often see them scurrying about. There was nobody from the hotel policing this. We were told during our stay by many that the pool boys were tipped as much as £22 so towels could be put out. We were constantly bothered by men trying to sell trips, scuba diving, massage a simple No would not do they were often aggressive and quite intimidating. The jetty was unfinished and gated and the brochure was misleading, you had to walk at least half a mile across sharp coral avoiding the black spiny sea urchins to get an opportunity to snorkel which is one of the main reasons we chose Sharm.el Shiek. There is a constant need to tip everybody for the smallest of things even pushing a chair in when you sit down expected a tip and honestly after a week of everybody doing it it became somewhat tiring. It seemed that waiters and staff homed in on those they thought would tip massively and you got a 2nd class service if you didn't tip. Entertainment was poor and bar staff would often run out of glasses . Overall not the holiday that was portrayed in the brochure. No way could have stayed a fortnight. Would not return
