The Ionian Blue Studios offer excellent self catering accommodation and are finished to pretty a high standard for 3 star. Also, the staff were always very helpful and friendly. This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at the Ionian and again, we were not disapointed. We wanted a no fuss, affordable week in the sun and this ticked all the boxes. We highly reccomend giving it a try!

Our second visit to Ionian Blue was better than the first, which we also enjoyed but this time we found a much improved food menu (great breakfasts cooked by Elleni) at a fair price, friendlier owners, Denis and Maria, who remembered us from 2 years ago, and our room on the newly opened top floor was absolutely knock out.The whole place is kept spotlessly clean, and the daily maid service, and clean towels and sheets every other day very welcome. The location is excellent with the large sandy beach and the main strip just a few minutes walk away. Views were glorious. Our favourite taverna was The Escape, again just a few steps away from our hotel, run by very friendly staff, who were more than happy to accommodate some of our off the menu requests. A must do, one evening, is to take a ride in one of the horse drawn carriages! Marvellous fun!. Overall, all the people we met in Kalamaki were very pleased to see us, and we enjoyed regular bouts of banter with the locals as we wandered around every evening. They love it if you can manage to say a few words to them in Greek!

We took the Simply Zante trip this time too, and saw more of this beautiful island. Particularly enjoyed the boat trip to the Blue Caves, which are stunning.

We are hoping to get back to Ionion Blue later this year, but if not then, we will definately be returning next year.

kalamki is a wonderfull place and the Ionian blue is a great hotel. Dennis and Maria are excellant hosts. We eat at the Escape and the Parthnen which were excellent. On the main road the cheapest drink was the hotel Vanessa. There is a nice walk along the beach to Laganas which is the livier place on the island. My only complaint about Zante is the bus service is not good enough which resulted in the bus,s that did run were always full. However I would give the holiday 5 out of 5. We would go back again. I would also like to thank Paula our Thomson rep who looked after us.

Ionian Blue is a lovey clean friendly and welcoming hotel within close walking distance to the beach. We have been here many times and will definetly be returning. Dennis and Maria can not do enough for you. The Artemis restaurant in Kalamaki was our favourite place to eat, good value & good selection of greek food and other choices, offering a loyality card with extra bonuses. Kev's Oceanic chill out bar on the old Kalamaki Road was our favourite drinking place. The cocktails are fantastic, there is always good music, a good crowd and a warm welcome from Kev. There is no telly & no football, the place has a great atmosphere where you can sit quietly and chat or join in and make friends with the other people around. Wherever we went for our meal, we always ended up here.Just an after thought his drinks are cheaper than most too. As always we had a great time in Kalamaki and would recomend it to everyone couples and families alike.

Really loved these apartments esp the pool area as it was so open with good scenary..the staff were lovely and worked very hard and long hours esp. the owners Dennis and Maria..the breakfast was reasonably priced and ate there every morning, nice selection of places to eat on the strip..Our room was very nice and clean..We booked our excursion with Thomsons and they were very good indeed and the trip over to Olympia on mainland Greece was outstanding and there seemed to be such an presence on the site..highly recommended..The Simply Zante trip was brilliant where we saw all off Zante, bus drivers were great drivers. Our rep Paula was fab and even better cause she was from my town and we had a lot of mutual friends also know her mother and still keep in touch now. Recommend going to Oceanic Chill Out Bar were u get a fab welcome from Kev and his girlfriend who was staying out there for the summer, she also turned out to have mutual friends with me..it was a holiday of concidence..Would defo return here..But the walk to the beach seemed longer than it sais in brochure..The hotel wasnt noisy it was just chill out..and i could not smell any sewerage smell by hotel..on the main road but thats to be expected out there, esp. when tourists are flushing toilet paper down the loos..
