As this was the first time that my husband had ever been abroad it was the best experience that he could ever had. We had an excellent welcome by Maria & Denis & all of their staff, who made our stay very enjoyable. They also made us feell as if we were part of the family. I would recommend this place to anyone who had not been abroad before as there was nothing that was too much for them to do for you,Maria even cooked at 12 o'clock at night for one of the people that was staying at the same time as us. All the room vacilities were excellent and was cleaned daily with clean towels as well. Maria & Denis and their staff could not have done any thing else to make this a more enjoyable holiday and my husband and I can not wait to go back there again. We enjoyed walking the short walk to the town to a different restaurant every night which provided a good variety of meals even my husband could enjoy as he can be a bit difficult to cater for, also the local bus service was great, the local supermarket called Denise's was great and stocked a variety of things and were very friendly.Would recommend it to anyone.

Dennis Maria are your hosts at the Ionion Blue. They are genuine greek hosts and like to ensure that your stay is a good one. Enjoy a beer with Dennis at the poolside bar. This hotel in the main is quiet and reflects the kind of people that use it and return year on year. Those that want entertainment can easily drop into the local strip or taxi down to Laganas to pick up the club scene. If you have a car go to the local Lidl near to the airport/fire station. It is worth the trip for the 'buy ins'. Exchange rates where better on the local strip than at home where we managed to get 1.15 Euros to the pound last week. So enjoy the peace and quiet of this Hotel and catch up on that unfinished book or two! If there was to be a downside to this hotel it would be rooms 103 and 104. These are backward facing rooms with views to the rear of the property. Most people would be dissatisfied with the aspect of these two rooms along with a feeling of being cut -off from the rest. So try to avoid these two rooms. The rest of the rooms are very well located with fine views from the front of the hotel and pool areas. So simply enjoy and chill out as we did once again!

Our first time 2 zakynthos,we stayd at the ionion blue for 1 week a small family run hotel by dennis and maria they r magic lovely people and cant do enough for u.the rooms r spacious with everything u need, spotless 2,the gardens r imaculate with enough sunbeds for every 1,no need 2 put ur towels out early.the food is very good 2 thanx 2 helen who works so hard and always smiles.the rooms r cleand 6 times a week with bedding and towels changed often.the hotel is only 5 minutes walk to kalamaki main street with all the bars resturants and a few tourist shops.just go to just zante.com for more info.the beach is only 10min walk, the resort itself is flat and ideal for walking with very few cars and scooters on the main road.perfect for a quiet walk day or night.theres a waterpark on the island that is good day out but will set u back 18euro adults and 14 for kids and the food and drinks r over priced 2. taxis r very expensive so hire a car or get the bus. ionion blue hotel is perfect for familys and couples who want a relaxing holiday with a good nights sleep.thankyou 2 dennis and maria and for helen for making our holiday magic.......c u all soon yamas. from magic david and suzie

spotlessly clean. we had read reviews and cose to contact the hotel and thomson for a room that was not on the ground floor as the reviews varied according to the floor you were allocated. we had a room on the 2nd floor and it was lovely. the balcony had mesh doors, proper doors and shutters. it was cool enough in the daytime and just as we were sitting out there in the evening the sun was on the balcony. nice views etc. staff were lovely and friendly. it's a family run place and they never stop. they go to bed when you do and are always busy by the time you get up the next day. we had 2 burners, microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge. it suited us as we like snacks and drinks but we don't tend to cook as such. the resort is quite commercial but it's quiet as the licencing laws state that the doors to any place with entertainment have to be shut at midnight. its a 5 min walk from the beach which wasnt great. a bit grotty i thought. we stayed by the pool as it was lovely. a distinct lack of noisy teenagers made it even better. plenty of sunbeds. there were people who insisted on putting towels out but there are only 37 rooms in the hotel so there is no need all in all a lovely place. best restaurant was pandesia. up to the strip, turn left and walk about 5 mins. greek music and dancing. really good food

Just got back from zante, was a bit worried as i had read some bad reviews but everything was great. Our room was very comfortable, cleaned about 5 days out of 7, the staff were ok although we didnt speak to them much. Only complaint was there was no plug in the bath, but there was a shower so it didnt matter. The beach isnt spectacular but it was good enough, plenty of sunbeds and the water was so clear we saw loads of little fish swimming about. The excursions were a little pricey but worth it as thomson made sure we beat the crowds so didnt have to share the places with hundreds of other people. Kalamaki is tiny, loads of restaurants but the shops are all very touristy, all sold the same things. There is not much for kids to do in the evenings. Also there are no pavements and the roads are quite bumpy so you have to be careful in the dark (my boyfriend nearly fell in a ditch trying to avoid a car). I would go back, but in summer when its busier, and i dont think id take my daughter as kalamaki is too quiet for kids.
