We have stayed at the Ionian Blue 8 or 9 times now, we were there in June. It is an excellent hotel, clean and friendly, so friendly we feel like part of the family now. Dennis' mother always comes and give us a hug when she sees us there again. I always have a hug and some tears with Maria when we are leaving. Our maid made us some cakes as a present, they were delicious and although she doesn't speak much English, she did manage to get the recipe translated into English for me. The day she gave me the recipe she also brought another big bowl of cakes, which we shared with some of the other guests. I don't think you can beat Kalamaki and the people there, they are so warm and friendly, a nice stroll along the beach takes you into Laganas, which has got a bit overtaken by nightclubs and is not the same as it used to be. We ate at the Mermaids restaurant and every night we were given a business card to get 10 per cent off our next meals, the waitress and the owner always came and had a chat with us before we left very friendly venue. We have done all the trips that Thomson's do so were able to relax and just visit the people that we have got to know in Kalamaki, such as the couple at the 7 islands supermarket, who always give us wine and a present to fetch home with us, we have seen her two children grow up, such a lovely family. We hope to be able to make it back again next year, hopefully we will be able to have the two breaks that we have been enjoying for the past four or five years.

My partner and I have just returned from 11 amazing days staying at the Ionian Blue Studios in Kalamaki. What a beautiful family run hotel. The owners Dennis and Maria were absolutely lovely, very friendly and sociable and always willing to sit and chat and TRY to teach us Greek lol. Kalamaki itself is stunning, the restaurants and nightlife are just a 5 minute walk away and the food is absolutely gorgeous and the portions huge! We went on 2 boat trips, one of which was turtle spotting and we managed to spot a few and had a couple of swim stops where we were able to jump off the boat into the crystal blue sea....fantastic! We will definately be returning to Kalamaki and will definately stay at the Ionian Blue again.....can't wait for next year :o)

didn't enjoy ioian blue, had room 103 it smelt of damp. We actually all had colds and chest infections. The owners don't want to know you. Everybody had poolviews except us who had a very dark balcony looking at a wall. Location not bad had a 5 minute walk up to main drag. Cheapest drinks at HOTEL VENUS on main drag, bottle of amstel 1.50, look for akids red pool slide cheapest drinks and a fab breakfast. THERE ARE 2 HOTEL VENUS MAKE SURE YOU GET RIGHT ONE. PARTHEON RESTAURANT IS GOOD FOOD AND REASONABLE. BRILL SUNDAY LUNCH AT DENNYS BAR. Get a taxi to and from airport as it's only 10 euros and takes 10 minutes max.

Just got back from ionion blue 11/08 /2008 got a chest infection from the damp in room 103 out of all the rooms this must be the worst as all rooms have pool view except this one which has a dark and dingy balcony with a brick wall view. Didn't mind resort abit quiet but ok drinks quite dear 2.50e for a bottle of amstel but did find abar called hotel vanessa abottle 1.50e which is the cheapest this bar is on the main road and has a red kids slide in it look out for it breakfast is really really good aswell. There are 2 hotel vanessa so make sure you get right one.Had a cracking sunday lunch in denny's bar really nice. Also a good restaurant and cheap is the parthenon really nice next to the rose n crown .Get a taxi from airport as it's only 10e as with thomsons they charge 45.00 for 3 of us on a coach. overall this holiday was ok as we only paid 199.00 for 3 of us in august probably why we had rubbish room and 556.00 for flight for 3 of us .I would really recommend that you do your holiday on the internet instead of travel agents . BUT SORRY WOULD NOT GO BACK TO IONIAN BLUEN

Booked through Thompson, the only way you can book this hotel. Room on arrival unhappy with room dark and dingy with all lights on, smelly and full of flies. Went to reception would not take us on just kept saying see rep. Rep arrived said this was common if i would pay she would get us another room. But hotel was full. could stay their so moved out at own expense.
