Been to a RIU before thats why we chose this one, was not disappointed. It was great, the specialty resturants were wonderful. The people were very friendly and the weather superb. Cannot recommend it enough, but need to go back asap.

The title says it all I think. This hotel was so nice, that we are going back in January to get married, and taking 20 other people out with us. This was easily the best hotel I have stayed at in the Carribean. Food was excellent, and we particualry liked the fact that there was local food available. We never had to queue to get into one of the restaurants, possibly because we prefer to eat late on holiday. Staff are very hard working and helpful. Rooms were excellent, very clean with everything you could possibily need - I suspect we got upgraded as I'm pretty sure we did not pay enough for THAT room or THAT view. Weather was brilliant whilst we were there and we took full advantage of the private beach. Whilst you do have people tryng to sell you stuff on the beach this is easily solved with a pair of sunglasses and an ipod, or a simple 'No Thank You' The excursions, whilst a little expensive, are definately worth it, especially Nine Mile and Dolphin Cove.
As a group of 8 friends staying at this hotel from Aug 4th to 18th we all had a great time. Staff were very friendly evening entertainment was good but could of had a bit more variety apart from dancing routines, although the enetertaiment team did do a brilliant job, very hard workers and good dances. Bar staff were very friendly at the Bib Marley bar! Booked to go to restaurants and apart from the Sir Richard we found the service not very good so were dissapointed in them, buffet restaurant was good though, plenty to choose from. We didnt book any trips with hotel as we got to know a taxi driver from outside hotel called Monroe and he took us everywhere we wanted to go. He was very friendly and a lot cheaper than hotel trips!! His catch phrase everytime you get on and off mini bus had us laughing every time..."Watch your head, watch your step". Went for evening to a Irish bar about 5-10 mins away and had a great night with lovely food. Beach and Pool are lovely Jerk chicken hut is a must to visit lunch times!! Think there should be more choice of food for daytimes as restaurant shut at 4pm and only place you could get snacks was from italian restaurant which to be honest we didnt go much on, pizzas which were dry and pasta with not much taste!! Beach party on saturday night was good and all in all it was a lovely hotel set right on the beach and we had a great time.
My husband and I had a great time. The weather was hot, the staff were polite and friendly, the room was very clean and we had excellent food. The whole experience was very relaxing and we enjoyed having a meal, then just wondering down to the pool or beach area. We met some lovely people and attended a wedding. We left on valentines day but managed to take in some of the entertainment before we left. We will definately stay at the Riu next time we visit Jamaica. Thanks for such a great holiday.
