Thomson Holidays - Hotel Reviews of the Villa Roditis

Chose the Villa Roditis as it was marketed by Thomson as a property off the beaten track. Far from it. It's location is on the edge of Kamari but on a fairly busy road and next door to a small hotel. The Villa is part of the Hotel complex. 3 hotel apartments overlook the Villa and noise from their bathrooms can easily be heard when on the pool terrace. It lies very close to the island's airport so we could watch and hear the planes all day. The pool is also easily overlooked from the road and had a frequent number of pedestrians pass all day. Not quite the advertised off the beaten track we were hoping for. The Villa itself was lovely and very stereotypical Greek which was great. However, the washing machine did not work and was not fixed during our fortnight stay. The kitchen lacked a full complement of cutlery and crockery for a family of four (2 mugs, 2 side plates, 3 forks, no teatowels, no kitchen cloths etc). This was disappointing to find. The advertised private parking within the walls of the Villa was not quite what we expected when delivery vans were opening the gate and driving in to deliver supplies to the hotel next door. Not so private, particularly when your're seeking solitude on the sun/pool terrace. Pointless advertising of having satellite TV as our young kids were disappointed to find that the only english language channel was BBC World News. Villa Roditis has lots of potential though but at present I would not rate it in the Thomson Simply Travel range.
