We stayed at the alice springs hotel for one week 27th may 2006 to 3rd June 2006. George and barbara are fantastic genuine people. They will help you anyway they can. We stayed on a room only basis but to us part of a holiday is not having to cook and wash up. We like to eat at different places so this holiday was great for us.
Ok if you've read any reviews you will know about george and barbara's BBQ its the best but if you want to go make sure you book as soon as you can. Wednesday night is lamb kleftiko night and the food is absolutely beautiful (very refined relaxing night). There are so many things you can do lay by the pool (the pool is immaculate and so is everywhere) go for a bike ride (see george for push bike hire) or explore. We made friends at the hotel and shared a taxi to zia. Its best to go about 5.30pm we ate in a taverna called avli on the roof top and the sunset is beautiful.
If its boat trips you are into head down to the harbour (near the dolphin roundabout) and see harry. Another australian! Fantastic 3 island tour with barbq - boat name marianna. The most established company there. Eating out theres loads of tavernas but we will recommend select in the old town (near to mcdonalds) and out at the marina "the stadium".
We never usually go to the same place twice but we definetly want to go back to the Alice springs we still have so much more we want to do. We were 100 percent happy with our holiday and the accommodation and our hosts. Just one last thing you dont have to put your paper in the bathroom bin you can put it down the loo! The last thing we have to say we hope you enjoy your stay at alice springs as much as we have.

This fantastic friendly hotel made our holiday. George, Barbara and Lillian (slave), are fantastic hosts and make everyone feel part of the family. The hotel has a very laid back atmosphere and the pool area and bar are very difficult to move from on very hot days, but it is worth while walking into town especially via the beach (right out of hotel), and enjoying some fantastic bars by the harbour ( the now and forever bar) being very pleasant just sitting and people watching. The whole hotel is cleaned daily and the rooms spotless. The barbecue is not to be missed.
All in all its fantastic and when people from hotels nearby frequent the bar because they prefare it to their hotel that says a lot about the superb hosts and the general ambience of the place. We shall be back and would not dream of staying at any other hotel in that area.

I stayed at this hotel the first week of the new season and it was wonderfull, George & Barbara are so friendly and they will do as much as possible to make your stay an enjoyable one. The bbq should not be missed, i haven't laughed so much for years. The holiday rep (david) was fantastic as well helpful but unobtrusive. Well done all

Fabulous holiday at the Alice Springs Hotel. Went there on first week of its season and was delighted. Hosts (and owners) George and Barbara, together with Son Elias and staff Lilian and Tony made us feel really at home. George is Australian (don't miss his barbecue and Kefticlo nights - they are something special!) It's only a 2 star hotel - but it feels a lot, lot more. Very clean, comfortable, great position for beach, shops and Kos town. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Have just returned and already booking for next May. You will not be dissapointed!

I have stayed at the Alice Springs hotel on several occasions and have had a great holiday each time. It's clean and near the beach and George and Barbara have always made myself and other guests feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. I look forward to going back this year.
