Lovely and convenient location. Hotel staff very responsive and helpful. The ventilation in the extremely compact bathroom was very poor. The breakfasts were uninspiring in that the range of food provided was limited and unappetising. Free WiFi access did not work within the room. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was excellent.

Room was small, very little wardrobe space and drawers for clothes. Loacation was excellent, and rooms cleaned every day. We were on B&B, breakfast was good, plenty of choice but our friends went to the buffet one evening and were very disapointed with the food. We had lunch at the restaurant overlooking the sea a couple of times, on the whole we were very disaponited with the quality and choice of food when compared to other eating places near by. Our Thomson Rep (John) was very friendly and always available for advice. Went on a couple of trips which were very good value for money, we got to see quite a bit of the Island and we would love to go back again in the very near future.

Good resort, nice hotel but needs soundproofing! Shame about the clientele and the tiny terrace beside the pool area.

We were disappointed as the hotel did not live up to expectations - though we believe this was perhaps exacerbated by a particularly noisy wedding group and the fact we were allocated a room by the pool.

Our hotel room had a tiny terrace right on top of the pool so we couldn't use it in the day time as we were completely on show and there were people sun bathing on both sides of our balcony wall - we actually felt like we were disturbing them by going to sit on our balcony. We asked to be moved but the receptionist insisted the hotel was fully booked. She was not helpful or friendly so we were unimpressed. The Thomson rep also tried but could not achieve anything. I'm afraid it put a dampner on what should have been a lovely week away. This was not a 4 star experience though we paid 4 star prices for the break! The doors to the hallways need better sound proofing as we were woken nearly every night by people chatting and shouting in the hall way as they returned from a night out.

Also, we were expecting a relaxing spa break - however with a large wedding group in the hotel this was not possible and we were surprised to see there were a number of young children and babies in the hotel. This was advertised as an adult only hotel in your brochure - we were told that Thomson doesn't sell the break to families however it can't stop the hotel from accepting children under 16 - I think this was misrepresented in the brochure and you should make this clearer if this is the case.

Thomson reps were great and transfers excellent - just let down by the noisy hotel and poorly located room.

Lovely hotel. Very comfortable room , friendly staff and good quality food and drink in the hotel bar and taverna. Weather was perfect. Would definately go back but would get around the island more next time. Couldn't fault the holiday at all - but watch those Germans!! They get up very early for the sunbeds!!

Kamari was a perfect location, with lots of tavernas, Hooks bar looked after us well with food and my daughters hen night. All of us was very impressed with the bathroom facilities of Family Taverna, food was very good too. The Hotel Afrodite Venus Beach had excellent facilities, beautiful pool and friendly staff. As we were there for my daughters wedding we didn't have much time for excursions, but did manage to get to see the sunset at Oia which was great, and also visited Thira, which had wonderful views. Santo Winery was a perfect location for their wedding although their actual day was overcast and very windy. Magnificent views there too. The Pyrgos Restaurant was great venue for their reception. I would just like to add that Thomson did everyone proud in their handling of the Greek strikes, and managed to make a bad situation a great adventure and put us into a beautiful hotel (Apollonia I think)in Heraklion. We found the Thomson staff were fantastic. We was all hoping that another strike would happen so that we didn't have to leave this great place
