Booked 4 weeks before on Family Favourite Choice. Went half board. Everything was just perfect for us. A very relaxing 2 weeks!!Great apartment, really lovely surroundings and well thought out activites and facilities. Weather was just great too, lovely and sunny with a pleasant cooling breeze so sunbathed in 34 degrees without sweating!! The swimming pools were so relaxing, floating on salt water, not cold either!! All the staff were friendly and helpful, thomson reps very good. Entertainers very amusing - what they lacked in talent they made up for with enthusiasm, some highly entertaining shows!!Food was good in buffet restaurant, plenty of choice, apart from the odd night when the soup could have been hotter, the quality was very good. My hubby is vegetarian and there was plenty of things for him too. The hotel is about 30 mins walk into Correlejo, lovely beaches, lots of shops bars etc - a bit commercial in places especially at night. We usually spent our evenings enjoying our meal , taking a walk down to Caspers - a little bar with great staff, lots of atmosphere, quiz nights, free internet access and cheap phone calls home!!the other bar to vist was The Winning Post, lots of teles, all the sports and quiz nites, bingo etc!! We would then walk back up to our hotel for the evening cabaret!! We took the thomson trip to lanzarote , the sightseeing and Timafaya- very good value and a most enjoyable day. Other fantastic excursion was on the Catamaran, Catlanza.Really fun afternoon, free drinks, food , jet ski ride and a swim in the sea with the fishes!!! Hotel provides bus to fantastic beaches for 2 euros, taxis are cheap too!! Cant rate this holiday any higher, want to go back next year with our kids and granchildren, confident they will love it too!!

For anyone looking for a real family holiday by the pool, look no further. Even in November the weather was fantastic and everyone really looked after us. Thomson's staff were fantastic with their Kidszone for the children, and the hotel also had their own activities which kept us and the little ones entertained. The hotels entertainment staff really made an effort for anyone who wanted to get involved which we were pleasantly suprised by as we were out of season. The only downsides are that the hotel is well away from the beach and you are some distance away from the town and the shops (this is compensated for by the fact that taxi's are cheap and there are lots of them). We stayed in a one bedroom self catering appartment which meant that there were people above us and to either side and it is fair to say that the acoustics are not good! (to the extent that you could hear next door wee-ing!!). I would probably look to stay in a bigger appartment on site next time where there were less neighbours. This said, it was not a huge problem and because it is all set in lovely gardens it is otherwise very quiet and peacefull. Cleaning wasn't fantastic and because it is set in gardens ants can be a problem, or at least they were to us. Food at the hotel was not great and the supermarket on site is very expensive. Don't expect to eat out in style in the town either because the food is very much cheap and chearfull and we didn't find any great restaurants. Overall though a very good holiday!

If you are considering staying at this hotel, you might want to note the following:

1. Rooms are NEVER cleaned, floors very dirty.

2. Food in the restaurant very poor (unless you like cat food swimming in oil)

3. Supermarket adjoining hotel is a rip off - do not shop here unless in an emergency. There is a supermarket down by Tiffanys (there is even an Iceland there!) which is much cheaper.

However, on the plus side, Corralejo is a very picturesque place with very nice restaurants down by the harbour.

It is an extremely quiet resort - definately one for couples who want to get away from it all.

If you get a chance, go to the Oasis Park - its a zoo down in the South of the island - a very long day but worth it, especially if you manage to have a camel ride, very very funny!

Hope you found this helpful! Any questions, e-mail me.

I went to Fuereventura and stayed in the Oasis Papagayo hotel in August 2005 and August 2006 and we're going back in August 2007 to the same place and hotel. Oasis Papagayo hotel is the best hotel you could ever wish for. They have 4 pools, one fountain pool and a Jacuzzi. The service there is excellent. The food and cleaniness is excellent. If you hire to stay in a villa, you get a dvd player and loads of rooms and a little pool in the back garden. They have there own shop, ice cream parlar, clothes shop, restaurants, bowling alley on the site. They also have trampolines across the road from the hotel, which is great. We love it so much, next august will be the third time we have been there. If you haven't been already, book a flight now, to that hotel. It really is great!!
