We stayed here last week with our two children (2 and 4). The apartment was clean, tidy and spacious, one bedroom with a very comfy double sofa bed in the lounge. The kitchen is not massive but has most things you would need. The complex ismfabulous for families with a kids club each day and a drop in session on afternoons. We had booked three creche sessions for our 2 year old but unfortuntely he would not settle, no reflection on the lovely girls caring for him. The resort has two playgrounds, a soft play room and a fabulous parent and baby room by the pool with kids toilets and baby feeding facilities. The restaurant was decent, not cordon bleu but pleasant and not too dear. Jose Manuel is a credit to the hotel, friendly and made such a fuss of the kids. Thomson daytime and evening entertainment was good for keeping everyone occupied night and day without being too overpowering. Special thanks to Krazy Katie and Sam for our Thomson the Dog room raid, a highlight of our holiday. My only grumble is how far the complex is out of town (los cristianos and las americas). A twenty minute walk to either although taxis are plentiful and reasonable, on average five euros. This did not spoil the holiday in any way though. A fabulous resort with great Thomson staff. Would definitely go back and would recommend it to anyone
All went very well ,only problems were 3rd fold out bed poor and hot food only mildly warm as no proper halogen lights at buffet
Villa Mandi- set in beautiful gardens with gorgeous pools. Main pool is heated which makes it a delight! No crack of dawn sunbed snatchers which is a real bonus. A very quiet, chilled out place at this time of year (April). Perfect for families with young children. Our room (238) was great very large with huge balcony and lovely views. Excellent buffet breakfast. Lovely staff. Location could be a problem for anyone wishing to be in the centre of the action or object to a 20 minute walk, on the flat, to Los Cristianos. This walk however was in itself a pleasure, passing through the local community and getting a taste of how the locals live life! Los Crisitanos is a lovely resort. A short transfer time. A very pretty beachfront with nice choice of restaurants and bars. In particular Las Linares, La Taberna Rustica and Las Velas along the front were excellent. las Velas was great for snacks with a large beer only 95 cents! Go into the backstreets and find lovely little shops and restaurants. The tapas at La Paloma was stunning, 20 euro for 2 people with about 11 plates. Cafe 5 has excellent coffee and croissants and late night drinks. Turn right out of the hotel and head to El Camison where there are lovely restaurants and a cheap supermarket where the locals shop. Tapas at the the Black Cherry here is excellent with a very friendly owner. We travelled with our 2 daughters, 5 years and 15 months, they had an outstanding time. They both loved the pool and the food at the buffet breakfast. We will definitely return. A super holiday! Wish we were still there!
Superb, clean and well maintained apartments. A short walk to the beach. Easy transfers between airport and apartments. Main swimming pool was heated, which was a nice treat.Would definitely stay here again.
Hotel was a bit further out of the way than we would have normally choose. This suited us in the end as hotel was not overcrowded and could always get sunbed round pool. Is about a 20 min walk to town or cost us between 3.5-5 euros in a taxi when it was too hot or we didn't feel like walking. Easy to get to Los Cristianos and Las Americas from Hotel. Hotel grounds and gardens are kept immaculate, but familys and children are also welcomed throughout hotel. Brilliant touches for people travelling with younger children. Heated pool. All areas hotel acceccable with a pram. Two outdoor playgrounds- one covered over in shade, an indoor playroom. Best touch was baby and toddler room near pool, which was not well advertised, but had a little kitchen with baby gate for warming bottles/feeds for babys- so you don't have to keep going back to room; and also a mini toilet and sink for toddlers to use- very thoughtful touches. Went out of season- so entertainment was not available, which suited us. But kids was kept busy day and night by the hotel entertainment staff- they was amazing- Football, snooker, kids disco at night etc, Our Room was very big, hotel staff work hard to keep all the rooms spotless, we was very pleased with room and maid service, room was cleaned daily and towels changed every day. Only niggle was sleeping arrangements, bed setee is suitable as a single bed and other half is a wooden bed on floor. As well as the double bed in the bedroom. We did not eat in the hotel so can not comment on meals. We would return to Villa mandi at a similar time of year- we went begining of April for Easter holiday, when hotel is busy, but not packed out. All the staff in the hotel are very friendly.
