We stayed at the Springhill Suites from 22nd May till 29th May when we then moved to a Villa for a week. This was our first time in a villa but overall we prefered the hotel and felt safer there. Weather in the area was very warm in fact too warm for us as we were out in the open a lot and it was too hot for walking. Thunder storms almost every afternoon which could be a problem depending on what you were doing as the traffic on the freeway was down to five miles an hour. Make sure you have aircon as even during the night the temp was 85 F. Hotel staff were very helpfull with the exception of one of the guys at reception who tried to give us a so called upgrade to a King Suite which turned out to be smaller than the Suite with two double beds we had originally booked. Needless to say we reverted back to our original room. At breakfast food was plentifull but the selection of hot food was poor Staff allowed you to take as much food etc away with you as you wanted and was sufficient to feed you for lunch. Hotel was very clean and the grounds were well maintained. The free car hire which Thomson gave us through Alamo was not worth having as it was for a very small car and does not include insurance. Better to arrange your own car through perhaps Dollar which we have used before and found to be very helpfull and better priced. If you hire a car a sat nav is essential. Golden Corral Buffet restaurant at 15$ including soft drinks ,tea and coffee and as much food as you can eat. Great selection of food but not perticularly good quality although it did not stop us from going back again. Worth the money. The Loop Shopping Mall was the best one locally but there were plenty to choose from. Even if you are not into theme parks it is a great area for a holiday with lots of parks to visit with wonderfull scenery and wildlife to enjoy. For us the weather was better in Florida when we were there in March/April 2008 as it was not as hot and much more pleasant at 75-80C but we still had a great holiday.
