We stayed at The Monte Tauro hotel at Taormina.It was very close to the heart of the town and right next to the Botanical Gardens, which was a beautiful quiet and cool spot. The Hotel was in a lovely position overlooking the bay. We were not impressed with the food at the hotel, but in most other respects it was excellent. There were so many loveley places to eat in the town, so no real problem. We ate 7 out of 14 nights at the Mirage Restaurant whic was conveniantly at the top of our Hotel Drive.Fab food, fab view.

Lovely resort, Plenty to see and do, from admiring the scenery, architecture and the lovely gardens. Very easy to use public transport to explore further afield. Lots of very good resteraunts but a little pricey. Locals are very friendly and helpfull. Enjoyed watching the crowds go by every evening on the Corso Umberto.
