Stayed last year came again this year because it was pretty good. But what a difference - awful! The whole hotel now looks very dated. Dining room staff were not at all attentive. Had to find own table which more often than not needed clearing and then having to wait for it to be reset whereas last year you were shown to a table and had the same waiter throughout. On eating around the pool one day we had to ask for the table to be cleared; there was one waitress for 14 tables and some of the guests actually cleared the tables for her! The food was very boring and unless you were there at 7 pm it was cold; what wasn't eaten at one meal usually went into something for meal(s) the following day. Several guests resorted to eating at Pizza Hut and MacDonalds. Desserts were the same most days - cakes, tangerines, apples which were only fit for horses and ice cream. Bar staff were quite morose and almost reluctant to serve you. Last year the waiters would take your drinks order but this year you were told to go to the bar and get it yourself. Very slow in clearing away glasses from the bar and pool areas. One day glasses were still amongst the sun loungers 3 days after first being spotted. Pool loungers very old and dirty; no towels. Pool area needs repairing. Balcony furniture could do with being updated - cheap plastic table and chairs.

Balcony glass cracked, view from balcony across to public footpath which also doubled as public lavatory. No the best of views when sitting out. Curtains in room missing hooks and net across door very dirty with cigarette burn. Local disco outside rooms playing music until small hours every day and their toilet was situated outside the hotel bedrooms and the aroma wasn't very pleasant.

Reception desk staff very rude. Only friendly person was chambermaid.

Entertainment was rubbish - bored looking entertainers! All commentary was in French!

Since reading other reviews, apparently tickets for loungers on the beach were available but no mention from tour rep or hotel staff.

Guests who had room service for food would pass the trays of uneaten food back into the hotel corridors outside other guests rooms for hours on end. Unpleaant smell.

Lift was out of action from Fri and still not working when we left on Mon even though it was a 365 day repair service.

Agadir itself is very nice but would not go to this hotel ever again.

Our stay at the Hotel Kenzi Europa, Agadir was great. The hotel had good entertaiment and very friendly staff. The rooms were good quality, cleaned and provided with fresh towels every day. Agadir itself has a lovely beach and some interesting sites to see. Just watch out for the people who want to show you how to get to the markets as they will want you to pay them and do haggel down prices when buying things. A wonderful holiday experience, well worth going to Morrocco.

The Kenzi Europa hotel is a good 3* which is centrally located in the resort area of Agadir. All of the following are good or better than good- the food, the rooms (but don't accept one near the noisy lifts), the evening entertainment, the heated outdoor pool, plenty of sunbeds (towels available on returnable deposit), the gardens are superb, 300m to the beach. Whats not so good- the weather in February (take a fleece), the alco drinks in the Kenzi are limited to local whisky, vodka, gin and beer, the wine is rough. Going to Marrakech is a great trip away but a dump once you get there. Whats really bad - the head barman at the Kenzi has a big attitude problem with Brits and all those who are on AI, the other barmen are ok. So make sure you give each of them a little tip when they serve you and that 'Smiler' sees you do it, then when he does condesend to serve you don't give him a tip, talk about a wobbley lip!! The other bad thing is the rubbish that the reps try to feed you about not booking trips with the local tour ops. (as they try to do wherever you go). The locals are half the price, fully insured and totally professional. When will Brit tour ops learn?

My friend and I have just returned from a first visit to Morroco. Our stay at this hotel did nothing to make us think about returning. Although the rooms were comfortable the whole place is in need of refurbishment. We found the staff at the bar to be quite rude at times - even to the point of dissappearing when people came to get a drink. Staff on reception were much the same. The dining room was really outdated. The food was always cold and whilst not expexcting full English meals we did want something that was edible. It seemed to go downhill from arriving to the point where we were having to eat outside for breakfast and evening meal adding to the cost of the holiday. The entertainment was very basic and lasted about 15 minutes each evening. It consited of magicians and acrobats along with a parrot shows, not what you would expect older people to be content with. A lot of guests that had returned from previous years were complaining that the hotel had gone downhill. On the plus side the beach at Agadir was spectacular and in the summer must be amazing. We had three days of rain when we arrived but it did clear up after that and we managed to get a tan. The pestering by shop owners can get on your neves at times and we would have bought more if they had left us alone. Went on the tour of Agadir with thomsons - quite informative at times but also boring driving through the docks looking at rusty fishing boats. We were also made to feel quite scared when visiting the Souk by the guide. He took us to certain shops to buy! Hoping to visit the Kasbah but just driven up the hill to take photos of Agadir and be pestered by people wanting to charge for taking photos of us by the camels! I havent been before and a stay at this hotel has certainly put me off a second visit. All in all I think thomsons should look again at the star rating of this hotel - definately not 4*.

Overall the Hotel Kenzi Europa is quite a nice hotel very clean but it is starting to show its age. We stayed all inclusive the food was generally ok but we did get a few dodgy days in which we only ate salad and bread. The hotel have two themed al a carte nights the Morrocan was awful so we did not try the second al a carte night The waiters are helpful and efficient but do give preferential treatment to the biggest tippers, I found the bar staff off hand on one occasion my wife found them positively rude, the reception staff we found very helpful, but dont think we'd go back
