Our stay at the Aegean Plaza was superb throughout, helpful friendly staff, clean comfotable rooms, excellent pools, great breakfast. Our marriage at Santo Winery was perfect in every way, breathtaking scenery. We hired a car for 3 days and saw the whole island, bustling Thira and beutiful Oia were particular favourites. Kamari is an excellent resort with loads of great bars and restaurants, Seaside where we held our reception was superb (especially the potent rose). Santorini is one of the prettiest places we have ever been and we will definitely be going back, for an anniversary maybe. Truly perfect.

We've been to Kamari three times now and can't get enough of the place. This was our first stay at the Aegean Plaza and we were not disappointed. The hotel itself is set just off the sea front and in a really good position. Nice lobby way with very nice staff. Pool area is probably the cleanest and well looked after we've ever come across. Plenty of sunbeds and on the whole no problem getting one but it was extremely hot whilst we were there and the shape of the pool area meant not much breeze. I would however definately give the beach a try, it's volcanic shingle and pebbles but clean and relaxing. The rooms were very spacious and very clean. Plenty of storage space and beds were firm but we found very comfy. Air con is free and safe just one euro per day. Each room has its own balcony over looking the pool area. Kamari itself is for us brilliant. Not overly busy but not too quiet either. A fantastic choice of tavernas to eat from, all with a perfect view. All in all it's a beautiful place and can't recommend the place enough.

We travelled to Santorini to attend our friends' wedding, and stayed for two weeks rather than one like everyone else in the wedding party, so that we could have a week on our own with our two children aged 4 and 7. We were worried before going that there wouldn't be much to keep the kids occupied but we needn't have worried. As there are not many hotels that cater for children, most families tend to use the Aegean Plaza. Our rep Niki (who the kids loved) gave us some ideas of places to go but the kids soon made lots of friends and spent the majority playing in the pool! We were given a room on the ground floor which was approx 10m from the pool, which was perfect as we could get two sun loungers in between and watch the kids at all times! We never experienced any problems with getting sun loungers, there were always plenty. Breakfast is great, full english, fruit, cereal etc. It does get busy but we never had problems with getting a table, they did run out of cups but we noticed that they bought loads of extras before we left! The cleaners are amazing, the maid came every morning and the room was always spotless. The pool area and the reception/restaurant were always exceptionally clean. Reception were very helpful. You get used to the pool music, we did feel like buying the bloke in the bar a new CD as there wasn't much beyond 1992, it did amuse us though. The rooms are comfortable, the beds are a bit hard but you get used to it! We had a junior suite which just had a fridge - I would have liked a kitchen area with us being there so long but we managed fine. We ate out most of the time so it wasn't an issue. We had a swish flat screen telly, you can only get CNN but we took a portable DVD player for the kids so it didn't matter and as someone said earlier, who goes on holiday to watch tv?! Santorini is a bit expensive but if you go expecting that (like we did) its not so bad. Most places do kids meals or are willing to split meals between kids / do smaller portions. We didn't have a bad meal all the time we were there, and all of the reastaurants made a fuss of the kids, giving them ice creams and non alcoholic cocktails! Overall a stunning place that I wouldn't hesitate to go back to! We travelled into Fira a few times on the bus (1.60 euros, takes 15 minutes) which is lovely but I would have liked to have seen more of the island. If you are taking kids I would definately recommend the Aegean Plaza.
