Staff were great, particularly at the poolside bar and restaurant (Mamdouh, Salah, Ahmed and the boys). Couldn't fault the attention to cleanliness in room, common parts and pool area. Main Tiran restaurant was disappointing. Not much idea of how to cook vegetables, meat was of poor quality and fish was disappointing except for the weekly seafood night where you can actually choose your own fish to be cooked for you. Starters, salads, puddings and fruit OK. The weekly seafood gala night was good and value for money. Snorkelling from the hotel jetty was the best we experienced from the point of view of fish and coral variety. Better in fact than on the nine sites we visited on three boat trips (two with Thomson and one with Bobos). Finally, the Thomson rep, Michael was great. Always helpful, available as advertised, and happy to sit in the restaurant and chat.

One drawback. One or other of the two pools was out of action for 11 of the 14 days we were there
