We visited the Formithea apartments at the beginning of July. After a short bus journey we arrived at our apartments. First impressions of the room were quite poor and the kitchen was very basic. It wouldn't have been possible to make any meal with the facilities provided. The room was based at the back passed the laundry. However, on mentioning this to the owners we were moved to a bed and breakfast room with stunning views of the mountain. Although we lost out self catering facilities the resort made up for this with there being plenty of bars and restaurants to frequent along the seafront. We walked to the top of the mountain and down the other side to Perissa (don't do this in flip flops as it is very rocky on the walk down to Perissa). We caught the boat back to Kamari around the mountain which is the better of the two resorts. We also caught a taxi to Thira (10 euros each way) as this offers better value for money than going on the organised trips to watch the Sunset. This is beautiful but the sun sets quite fast. Santorini is a lovely Island and is not to touristy. We would love to return in a few years time.

Firstly the owner Maria made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived, this continued throughout our two week stay, so much so we felt like family and she in turn treated us like so. The apartments were always kept spotlessly clean as were the surroundings and pool. Santorini Impressions was an excellent excursion and value for money, however Thera by night was overpriced as the local bus only charges 1 euro 10 cents for the same package. Highly recommend staying at these apartments.

These apartments are built around a pool which is aleays kept clean and tidy the people who look after the hotel are efficient and always around to assist. Rooms are typically greek, small, clean with limited facilities. If you are intending to eat regular meals in your room, prehaps this is not the best place but of you just want a brew they are perfect. our room was at the back and not overlooking the pool but the great thing about this was the is no sun on the balcony in the evening when you are getting ready for your night out. The apartments are just a short walk from the front and are therefore is a peaceful location and the best feature for me was no screaming children around the pool in the daytime, it was great.
