We stayed at the Evelyn Hotel in June 2012 the staff were extremely kind and friendly accomodation was basic but adequate. The main resort was a fairly long walk away but not too bad. The people of Samos were extremely welcoming and adore children. We loved Boco Beach bar and also one right next to the airfield it found it entertaining when the planes went over as were so loud luckily only a few flight per day. We preferred the restuarants on the back streets rather than the ones in the habour and also Pegasus just outside of town was a great place to eat. We took a boat to psili amos which was worth a visit a lovely little sandy beach with a couple of tavernas. We would definately recomend this lovely island.

Wow, what a fantastic place. Locals and staff very friendly, george and maria who work at the onsite bar cannot do enough for you. I have been twice now and already planning the third visit!! The harbour is the place to be at night which is about a 20 min walk or 2 euro in a taxi., full of restaurants and bars for a top quality meal or just a general relaxing chill out. I would recommend this destination to anyone. For an evening meal i would recommend the Palladion in Pythogorian near to the harbour. An absolute 10 out of 10!

Our second trip to Samos and thrilled to be back. A quiet island but plenty to do if you want to - or just laze around and absorb the atmosphere. Hotel Evelyn was good and we enjoyed a game of tennis one evening. The pool and snack bar here are very good and we stayed for their own souvlaki evening which provided excellent food mid way through our holiday. Pythagorion is wonderful and we spent many happy hours eating and drinking while gazing out at the boats, harbour and scenery. We would recommend Mousses Bar to anyone - Janita and Andreas will provide the warmest welcome on the island. Make sure you hire a car too and see some of the island. Apart from the wonderful historical sites, there are some great beaches at Ireon and Kampos (SW), and the waterfall at Potami. Small by our standards, but you have to wade or swim up a narrow canyon to get there which is great fun. For boat trips, try Captain Jiannis in Pythagorion. And remember to order some local wine, we liked Samena Golden best! Happy holidays!

We have been to Samos 5 times and everytime its just got better. The Evelin is lovely with lovely people, the owners are great and the staff, Maria on reception is a gem absolutley wonderful, George Maria on the bar are fantastic we always look forward to seeing them when we return.. The harbour is lovely with loads of resturants to choose from. It's child friendly.. Why go somewhere else when you have it all in one place SAMOS!!

Having visited different greek islands over the last 8 years samos was just as we expected warm generous
people excellent food in nearby town. Town about a 25 stroll and only 3 euros in a taxi back.
Hotel very pleasant with us having a 7 day maid service. A very well stocked bar and snacks on request. Only drawback in hotel was the very small shower unit. Staff could not have been more helpful or friendlier. Only 10 mins from airport some overhead noise on odd days but not a problem. The resort offers plenty of bars and restaurants and we tried a different one each night and the food and the service were of the same high standard. English people are well liked and respected here. The island can be toured very easily and this hotel has its own car hire firm. If you want hot sun, great food and lovely people Samos is for you. Not recommended for families with teenagers.
