Hotel Colon Guanahani Really lovely hotel. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful outdoor terrace where we had breakfast & dinner each day. The staff were friendly and very helpful although many spoke little or no English (most of the guests were German so that was the second language spoken). I must also mention the really excellent food. The hotel is in the really nice area of Costa Adeje, just a street back from the beach. It is in a lovely position to walk to either Playa Dulce or Porto Colon. It is definitely a hotel for couples rather than families. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Fab hotel with good facilities. Good area local to shops etc. beware of street sellers and shops ripping you off as your English. However shame about Thomson. When we arrived at Tenerife airport we wer to a Thomson rep. We went to a rep outside who did not not only know our hotel and was going to send us miles away to a neighbouring hotel called the Colon 2. A guy appeared and said to go with this lady who spoke Spanish only. We were piled into her car which was not marked. Very odd. We were initially told we would have a rep in our hotel daily or a Sister hotel. However when we got to the hotel we had a letter saying we had a holiday adviser who we had to call. The information in the folder from Thomson was not in English. We sorted ourselves out with excursions etc. we were extremely mad that we were not given what we were told. We paid quite a lot more to have that and having never been to Tenerife we wanted the safety net of having that rep there. Also the flight back was a lot more detailed than that of the flight going. We would never book with Thomson again.

Having read the thomson reviews on this hotel, we had chosen the correct 4 star hotel.

HOWEVER arriving 6pm on 27th dec very tired from the journey my wife and i were really looking forward to our (superior) pool view room 2/3 PERSONS.

On entering the room our first impressions,(DATED).

however to tired to be bothered.

Following morning seeing room in a different light this was VERY DATED.

SHOWER CUBICLE DOOR HANGING OFF,address immediatly on complaint,SMALL PLASTIC STOOL LEG BROKEN, for use of seating at the only dressing room mirror (situated in shower room). so men dont expect to access the shower room before your lady has finished her hair. tiles in bathroom had been painted to look good. the only dressing table within the room was without a mirror.

THE SAFE POSIONED IN WARDROBE (ON FLOOR) try accessing this ladies in you finery.

2 single beds pushed together were comfortably bearable, single flat pillows were'nt.

Having read other reviews we did not expect a road facing elevation, traffic noise subdued untill 3rd jan then very noisy early morning, complained to thompson enquiring if the room we booked had been the room weve been allocated, thompson returned with, yes this was the superior room for which we paid.

The hotel management and staff throughout the hotel EXCELLENT

ALL SERVICE PERSONNELL EXCELLENT

ROOMS CLEANED ( AND I MEAN CLEANED ) DAILY (EXCELLENT)

Entertainment bearable to what we saw

Spent quite a lot of time in JARDINE de NIVARA, especially NEW YEARS EVE (absolutely fantastic hotel and STAFF)

PURELY LET DOWN BY THE ROOM AGAINST THE PRICE WE PAID

Excellent hotel, beds so comfortable, food excellent and varied, quiet chill out venue. Location good near to beaches, bars, shops and attractions. Mainly occupied by couples young and older not many children around. Again we relied on Thomson information and they provided us with an excellent break, thank you.

Had a fab time hotel was top draw ,resort a little bit tacky at one end but when we found the other end which is as you look out at sea the rright hand side is more up market. Less hasle from english guys trying to get you in for plate of chips and sky sports.

The only other thing was a lack of a Thomson rep to put you right on these sort of things , like dont buy fruit from guys on the beach 8 euro for a small pinnapple and once they have cut it up in front of you it is impossible to say NO.

I would go again but wuold like to see a rep at the hotel !!
