Had an amazing ten day stay at this hotel and I would have recommended this hotel but felt Thomsons should do more. Spent 1 hour checking in due to a very slow service and then we were split up on our flight out with my boyfriend at one end and myself at the other because we did not pay to sit together. Not a good start...But on arrival at the Maritim we were really impressed. Location is excellent and the hotel is wonderful. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are very clean and the food is wonderful. The hotel is very private and security is excellent by the pool and the beach. There are a lot of cats and chickens walking around...but you get used to them. There is no wifi in the rooms but in the lobby but its not that great, but there is an internet cafe around the corner where you can use this. The journey to the hotel is VERY VERY Long so be warned but it is because we were the last drop off...and did not arrive at the hotel until 2am. We booked three trips through our rep. The VIP Boat cruise, A day trip to Rhodes and probably the best idea and trip ever was the Dalyan check out. This was if you had a late night flight but did not want to spend the day hanging around. It started quite bad and be warned the coach pick up time is 7.55am....but the coach was 35 mins late which was quite frustrating when we could have been in bed but this is due to other people not checking out on time from other hotels, but once we started the trip by the end it was fantastic and would def. recommend this to everything. This hotel had more older people and couples in but mainly older which is why we found it so relaxing. Would def recommend a Turkish bath and a Turkish shave for the men in the hotel. We pre-booked our seats for the return journey..There were several couples and families split up again which I really dislike and do not see this happening on any other airlines. Tip - Do not buy anything on return from the airport...everything in the airport is very expensive with a bottle water costing £5!!!!

We have just returned from two weeks at the Grand Azur in Marmaris, the hotel was so good, e.g. plenty of choice at meal times, service excellent, staff on hand 24/7, they can't do enough for you. So good we are just booking for next year again. the area was quite, but not far from night life if required, however the hotel had plenty of entertainment for all ages. The private beach was never crowded and very clean.

Extremely disappointed with this hotel.......certainly not a 5 star hotel. Situated in the middle of Marmaris so very busy and noisy. Loud music played every evening from hotel next door. You walk out of the front door and are greeted with lots of tacky restaurants/bars with locals hassling you to come in. Food in the resort is buffet only and very basic with the same sort of things each evening.Very misleading as in Thomson brochure there looks like there is a choice of 4/5 places to eat when infact the only thing included in your half board is buffet, oh and an A la Carte restaurant that is only open Wednesdays! We ate by the pool some days which was very nice food! Well reccommended. Be prepared to be outside by the pool at 830am each day or sunbeds will dissapear.Beach was a let down with sun loungers very close together and hardly any sand!!!

Wonderful experience. overall, bus journey nearly two hours, but did stop for comfort break. Hotel lovely at the quiet end of Marmaris, about an hour to walk to Bar Street, but loads of restaurants and bars on route along the promenade. Pool area surrounded by immaculate garden with trees, water slide and childrens pool, but be careful with young children as no shallow end in main pool. Hotel is right on the beach with private area and free sunbeds. Food was great every night with lots of choice. fresh cooked omlettes and pancakes for breakfast as well as full english, cereal, toast, yogurt - you won't go hungry. The waiters, however are extremely busy and there is no table alliocation, so if you are in a large party you have to look hard for a table as you will find two guests sitting at a table for eight! Beach very clear, but pebbles and very course sand. Lots of watersports directly on your doorstep. My husband and i - both in our 40's did parasailing - it was excellent and only about 75 Turkish Lira. We also went on a diving trip, jeep safari and quad bikes as well as jetski's and pedalo. Trips very reasonably priced if you buy along the promenade, but be warned - every trip guide takes hundreds of photos which you have to barter for as they are very very expensive - dearer than the trips. Also took a boat taxi to Ichlemer market - fake everything - you have to barter very hard and its difficult to get away from them, but quite fun too. The locals really like you to pay in Stirling and you will get more for your money. you can also use Euro or Turkish Lira. We also went to Atlantis water park. looks rubbish, but rides very fast and beautiful views at the top of slides of Marmaris bay. Alcoholic drinks quite expensive, coctails about 15 Turkish Lira and soft drinks about 6 Turkish Lira. food very cheap, usually less than your drinks! I would definately go to this hotel and resort again.
