JUST RETURNED FROM A VERY ENJOYABLE, RELAXING HOLIDAY IN THE BELLVUE PARK. SEVERAL THINGS MADE THE HOLIDAY, BUT THE MAIN ONES WERE THE VERY,VERY, VERY FRIENDLY HELPFULL STAFF THROUGHOUT THE COMPLEX, THE FOOD WAS GOOD TO EXCELLENT FOR AN ALL INCLUSIVE HOLIDAY, THE ROOMS WERE CLEAN AND WELL MAINTAINED.PLENTY SPACE AROUND THE POOL AREA, ALTHOUGH WE USED THE GRASSY AREA NEXT TO THE BEACH. TAKE YOUR OWN TRAVEL KETTLE AS THEY ARE NOT SUPPLIED AND A BEACH TOWEL AS THE ONES THEY SUPPLY ARE NOT VERY LARGE. NOT MUCH TO SEE JUST OUTSIDE THE HOTEL, BUT THE MARINA AT PORT EL KANTAOUI IS A SHORT TAXI RIDE (we walked it once) AND IS WORTH SEEING, EVEN BETTER IS THE MADINA IN SOUSE, WHICH ONCE AGAIN IS A TAXI RIDE AWAY.
We selected this hotel because it does 10 nights, we originally wanted the hotel next door, a 5star , but they only do 7 or 14 nights. we were very pleased with the belle view from the moment we arrived, the reception staff were very attentive and helpful which made checking in so much easier. I have to say that the staff at the belle view are the best we have ever had the pleasure to meet and that is on our fifth visit to Tunisia. everyone from groundsmen to waiters were so pleasant and helpful, whether this is the normal standard for a TUI hotel i can't say but they made our stay all the more enjoyable. the things we look for on a holiday is a comfortable room, great location on the beach and good food. the belle view has it all. the restaurant had a good choice of dishes and a nice touch is a drinks counter where you help yoursef to all the wines, beers, coffees and soft drinks that you need and this theme is continued in the outside eating area. there are a few moans but not many. my wife says the bath is too high and difficult to climb in and out for the shower, i imagine even more difficult for the elderly. i know it is only tv but there were only 2 channels in english, both BBC news but the evening entertainment was limited as is always the case in Tunisia. the carpets in the passage ways are looking very tired and the lifts had problems and seemed to be repaired daily. do not let these gripes of mine put you off visiting i would certainly go back there. the excursions we did were El Jem roman amphitheatre where our guide assured us Gladiator was not filmed there and is well worth a visit, and the Zulu evening which was a little disappointing for our second visit, the food was cold and the drinks of poor quality. Port el Kantaoui as always is bustling and is well worth at least one visit if you can handle the hassle. all in all for a 3 hour flight from Manchester a very enjoyable holiday can be had there a a reasonable cost.
We were very impressed with the Belle Vue - it was as described and more. Would certainly return. The General Manager - Pablo - was about all the time, checking and making sure that the guests were happy and satisfied, we had a minor complaint when the shower head split - it was dealt with in two hours, and that evening the GM approached us to ensure that we were happy and only then did he sign off the technicians work sheet. The Pool and grounds were very well kept and all the staff were attentive and courteous. Food was quite good and plentiful. The Thompson rep - Natalie - was always available, never too busy to talk to you and was always well turned out - a credit to the company.
nice food and plenty of it, lovely sand, sea and people. animation team are fab and kept the kids entertained. cant wnait to go back!!!!
The hotel on arrival were very helpful aftre a 3 hour delay they still offered us a meal at midnight! Couple of things, poor UK TV, NO iron in room or available to borrow (even Travelodge have these!). Fantastic rep who was often here and helpful. Only thing I would say welcome meeting only really talked about the expensive trip for an overnight stay and briefly whizzed over others. As a couple in late twenties we were mainly surrounded by people who could be our grandparents - however it was quiet and relaxed just as we wanted. All staff really polite and helpful. Went into Port El Kantaoui and OK, just every few steps being approached to go into shops/go on trips etc. Taxi only cost #3. Went into Sousse and unless we missed something, what a dump! Stayed all of 30mins and went back. Fab weather, if you want a chill out and plan to mainly stay at hotel then it's a nicfe cheap option. Cannot comment on trips as we didn't go on any but seemed reasonable in comparison to other places we have been. DON'T FORGET the dinar is a closed currency, we expected we would be able to change coins at the airport too becasue of this but were only told on our return transfer that couldn't....no wonder the bus driver was happy, he was getting lots of tips!
