The hotel was great, very clean and comfortable but although there was a variety of food on offer, it was not always to our taste or as desribed on the menu - veal in marsala turned out to be pork!some local dishes were regularly offered which was good. The spa was excellent staff friendly and helpful and, although this hotel catered primarily for Germans, English was spoken. No English Thomson guides were based in the hotel but were in a sister hotel less than 10 minutes walk away. The excursions were a little expensive but very enjoyable. We were able to visit some places by local bus very easily. Can Picafort itself is compact and has lots of good shops, market and places to sit with a cup of coffee or glass of Sangria and watch the world go by and the amazing blue/green sea.
Autumn half term holiday with 4.5 year old and 4 month old baby. Great location very central with great access to beach and shops and cafe and bus ride to alcudia and port pollensa. Great temperatures very friendly staff at the hotel. Had the 1 bedroom apt which was very useful with microwave and 2 ring hob but no kettle. Double Shower only in the bathroom. (no bath) Nice playground and splash pool. Also lots of pools for swimming not very deep Enjoyable holiday
The staff were friendly with minor exception. The marble floors and delightful cane furniture created a real luxury feel although the marble did conduct much noise from room above. Garden and pools well maintained and attractive. Presentation of buffet food fantastic . The food? If you like your food salty, vegetables partly cooked and rubbery, bacon thin and fatty, sausage continental, then this is the place for you. The "strangled" egg is ?? Our third holiday this year, the weather for the first two weeks in October was really good. The walk down the narrow palm tree lined street to the beach was about 400m rather more than 300m indicated by Thompson. Good sandy beach and shallow clear sea, great for family. Area very touristy, awash with eating places. Buses very frequent but crowded, we wonder what they are like in peak season. Hotel entertainment? Enough for all tastes, Pedro with his guitar on Tuesday and Manhatten on Monday were outstanding, it all depends on your music preference. We understand that Elvis was also very popular. The hotel was populated mainly by charming German guests, many with lovely small children. Would we go back? Yes if the chef changes his tactics.
We stayed for a week in October and were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel. It is bright, clean and friendly. The food was exceptionally good with a wide variety of dishes available both at breakfast and dinner. Shops, bars, restaurant and beach are all within a few minutes walk of the hotel. But unless you like the sand and the sea there is plenty of swimming and sunbathing to be done in the beautiful grounds - and any of several pools. We would recommend this hotel to friends and family.
Just returned, the hotel is excellent, so much to do Lovely wellness centre Panoramic bar has great views and sunsets. Rooms on top floors have the better views and rooms facing the pools would be quieter as coaches arrive early in the morning so can be noisy. Staff very friendly. Food very good range something for everyone Lots of fish dishes. Ate too much
