Have just returned from a weeks stay in Corralejo and stayed in the Barcello Corralejo Bay hotel which is for adults only . Unfortunately both myself and my partner were very dissapointed with both the hotel and the resort . We are both just 50 but found that the hotel catered for much older customers with regard to entertainment and the hotel totally lacked any atmosphere it was like spending your day in an old peoples home . Most of the bars which have live music have recently been closed by the local police due to noise polution , the few bars in the town which still had live music had to reduce their noise output to 65db and had to close their front doors to the street after 9pm . The Barcello Corralejo Bay Hotel was very dissapointing when compared to previous Thomson Adult only hotels that we have previously stayed at . Sorry but for us this was not a good resort or hotel to stay . If you are after a holiday with some atmoshere and entertainment this is not the holiday for you . During our week stay the hotel had building works being carried out by the pool area so there was alot of hammering , chisseling and pneumatic drill noise and alot of crane movement going on , this we were not expecting for a 4 star hotel and would have expected the hotel to close while building works were being conducted . After our recent experience we would have to consider seriously before booking another thomson adult only holiday again
Have stayed at this hotel before , although is now called Barcelo Corralejo Bay hotel.Very close to beach, short walk into centre, making it an ideal location.
The hotel maintains a very high standard in all areas, although the restaurant food in the evening was pretty average i.e. poor quality meats, overcooked and a lack of sauces. This was my only disappointment of the holiday.
All rooms also have a fridge which is useful.
Bar prices were also very reasonable(bottle of house wine 8 euros).
My only complaint is the usual one of reserving of sun lounges which is done from 9 am. If you want one you have no choice but to get down early.
There are plenty of music bars to suit many tastes but I would recommend seeing Eric Sijpestijn at the Brisamar which is by the crossroads near to the hotel. He used to be in the Imagine Bar but has now moved.
