This was our 3rd trip in 3 years to dreams beach and again can not fault it, the staff are always there to help you no matter the problem or time of day, if you want a relaxing holiday laying on a sunlounger then this is for you, the excursions out if you have not been before are well worth it we recommend the sinai by starlight and the glass bottom boat, yes you can get pestered by people trying to sell you trips(snorkling and diveing) and the massage palour but its no differant than in this country people at the seafront while on holiday trying to sell you things its called trying to make a living, some of the rooms are a little outdated but i promise from what we have seen they are putting a lot of money into putting this right, the 3 times we have been they have had one block of rooms closed to renavate each year, The staff at the pagola and the grillhouse are fantastic and very friendly, There is not a lot to do for very small children but there is plenty for the 7 year olds to teenages, The snorkling at the hotel is fantastic around the reef with all sizes and colours of fish you could ever want to see but its against the laws of egypt to stand on, break off the living coral, and if you try to bring it home and are caught at the airport your in for a very large fine and possibly prison!!, one thing i can say is i know a lot of people to go to sharm and everyone says the same thing, THE HOLIDAY WAS FANTASTIC, THE HOTEL(whichever) WAS FANTASTIC AND WOULD BE GOING BACK TO EYGPT AGAIN, we always go in january its classed as there winter but the weather is still quite hot( between 21 and 30 degrees), dont be mistaken by the name beach though, its rock with sand on top but plesant to walk on, there was always somthing to eat even for the fussy ones, there are crepes served in the beach bar between 10am and 4 pm with apricot jam sugar and cream if you so wish, we bought a little kettle to take with us this year as we missed a cuppa on a night and yes you'v got it they put them in the rooms as standed. roll on january so we can go again, GIVE IT A GO YOU WILL HAVE ONE OF YOUR BEST HOLIDAY EVER!!!
No problems at all with our travel to or from the hotel - everything went very smoothly, no hold ups or delays. Our room wasn't quite ready when we arrived but just had a drink in the main bar and within 20 minutes maximum we were on our way. I love the fact you don't touch your cases going/coming from your room! Greeted with a fruit plate from the management. Mini bar replenished with water and coke each day. If we were missing bath towels etc when we returned from the pool they were there later - no problem. We did have a problem with the bath drain but this was sorted within 15 minutes. Our room was in block 38 - side sea view, gardens/fountain to the front, Dreams Vacation behind, some may think it's far from the bars/restaurants/pools/beach etc but it's a lovely walk around the gardens and very quiet at night. We met our rep Ibrahim the next morning. Nothing was too much trouble for him. It was our Silver Wedding anniversary when we were away and Ibrahim arranged a little surprise for us to help celebrate. We went on the Friday Night Feeling trip into Naama Bay - a cheap and good way for anyone to recce 4 night clubs/restaurants (TGI Fridays, Bus Stop, Little Buddha, Hard Rock Cafe) - and VIP boat trip. This was an excellent trip towards Tiran Island with 3 stops for snorkelling. The boat staff/crew worked so hard to ensure all of us onboard enjoyed our day (needless to say for some this wasn't enough!!!!!) even making sure I got extra help to make sure I was able to become more confident in the sea. Their knowledge of the sea life is amazing. We ate at My Place (great steaks), Asia House (Dreams Vacations - excellent service and food), Bedouin Tent (great food, show and service from Romany) all extra cost for food but drinks in the all inclusive Grill House (squid and sea , lamb and chicken) what a lovely last evening, eating by candelight overlooking the beach and sea. The main restaurant had a wide selection at any time, the grill house great for lunch. From the minute we arrived until we landed back in Glasgow the Thomson staff, reps, hotel staff were nothing but polite, helpful, friendly. We did tip but did not do so because it was expected by any of the staff but because we know their wages aren't fabulous and they work so hard. We did not have to queue for drinks anywhere be it beer or coffee. Please/thank you's help a great deal, whistling/'oy you' don't seem to help get anyone's attention.I'd recommend this hotel for a quiet, relaxing time.
