We had good weather,so that was a bonus. The hotel was clean but very basic. The food was the worse point of the holiday. It was always luke warm or cold, there is nothing worse than cold chips. We stayed a week I am glad we did not stay longer as it would have cost us a fortune to eat out.I was kept fed by a nice lady in a taverna in potos. We were not the only ones complaining about the food.If it is not careful there will be an outbreak of listeria.Tom the rep was very good, but as he was new to the job,he did not seem to have any back up from others. It would be nice if I was given the money back on the meals.

Just had a good holiday weather very hot. Hotel upgraded since our last vist 6 years ago, although dining room extended so can no longer eat outside which was a big disappointment. In same room as before, that was eerie! We enjoyed walking into Limenaria about 40mins, lovely views on the way (cut across the beach to Potos much quicker) It's a long way for a week as it's plane bus ferry bus but it's part of the fun going there! However could not have stayed longer the food was dreadful, even by greek standards. Pancakes were good but needed those walks!! A fantastic holiday spoilt by the food. Loved the big rocking chairs looking out to sea and the sunsets! Thassos is a lovely Island so easy to drive round. A must is the ampitheatre in Thassos town and then the CLIMB to the view.

We stayed at the Alexandra beach End of August 2008. The hotel was fantastic. The food was great the whole experience change my mind on holidays to Greece. We found that you could save money on the trips by hiring a car for a few days. You could stop where you wanted and have as much time at each place for a fraction of the cost of the arranged trips, which the holiday companys try to get you to buy at the welcome meeting. Remember to take your driving licence! The beach was a bit rocky so please use beach shoes. Thassos town is great. lots of little gifts shops and tavernas. The ferry crossing adds to the holiday, remember to look out for the Dolphins in the harbour. ENJOY!

The hotel was fantastic, Food was brillant, the beach was very quiet but it was a surprise to find it was very stoney and very rocky in the sea. You had to buy special shoes to be able to get into the sea, (which were cheaper down in the town of potos than in the hotel shop). The beach in Potos was sand and it was better to get int o the sea to cool down. Lots of bars/resturants there, do try the Boomerang Bar (brillant staff and very very friendly). The Island itself is very green, quiet and beautiful. We would visit again. July was very hot about 30 degrees all the time.

The rooms are very well appointed and clean. TV installed and OK if you understand German or Dutch, Euro News mostly in English but boring. Still, didn't go for the TV. Hotel pools are clean and well designed, and Hotel facilities are generally good. During our two weeks the weather was fantastic, the Thompsons excursion we went on was good, and fairly priced. Two points to bear in mind on the negative side. Firstly, on arrival at the airport your hold luggage goes in a lorry. You go in a coach to the ferry, then another coach to the resort. No problem with that and you will be told that the cases will be at the hotel about an hour after you get there......NOT SO !!! Make sure you take some shorts and suncream out of your hold luggage, you may have to wait most of the day to get your bags, as the lorry waits for other flights to come in before delivering your luggage. Second. Whatever the brochure says, there is sand on the beach (and stones) but there is no sand in the sea that we could find. Everyone going in the sea wore beach-shoes to walk over the stones. There is a pontoon to dive off if you are a good swimmer. The beach in the nesarby town of Potos is more sandy but also gets quite crowded.
