firstly, the damon hotel is amazing. the staff are very friendly and obliging. we had a problem with ants in the bathroom, rang reception and within 5 minutes they had sorted it. the rooms were maintained to a very high standard and cleaned everyday with fresh towels everyday too. the restaurants in the area are excellent, try fat mamas for entertainment as well as food. cheaper meals in thomas's jungle bar. we went on an excursion to famagusta, which was very different. u get to see a very different side to the island. recommend a visit to coral bay, the harbour and the tomb of the kings (buses are very cheap and frequent 6 euros all day).

Just stayed at the Damon apartments. Very comfortable though the decor was a bit dated. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and we no shortage of clean towels. Always plenty of sun beds available. Thomson rep very helpful. Bus stop outside the building. Buses were every 15 mins and cost 1 euro a journey or 3.50 euros for all day. Supermarket near and great choices of restaurants. We discovered drinks could be costly eating out but we found a place called the Pit Stop which was very reasonable so went there for drinks after our meals. Enjoyed the wave dancer fireworks cruise in the evening. Really enjoyed the buffet and Andreas was a great host.I was disappointed with the breakfast choice. I expected lots of fresh fruit but it was oranges quarted, apples, grapes and tinned peaches or pears. This was the choice for the 14 days we were there. Bananas would have been nice!!

This was our first time in Cyprus &we went for a family wedding meeting family that were already in Paphos. I wasn't too sure about the Damon after looking at it online but I'm pleased to say I was wrong. The rooms were large & well equipped, the whole hotel was spotless, the staff were friendly & as we were in the back block we were next to the supermarket & had a smaller, quieter pool at our disposal. The only thing that lets the Damon down is the breakfasts, not much choice & what is there isn't that great. However, on the road the Damon is on there are plenty of cheap places to eat! It is about a 20 minute walk from the Harbour where most of the action is but the bus there and back is only 1 euro and there are plenty of taxi ranks too! Weather was baking but we had an amazing time, everyone in our group wished they were staying at the Damon as it was much better than their hotels'. Don't expect too much from the reps, as we speak to one the whole time we were here but he put a note under our door during the week, bit of a cheek as he passed us by the pool & would have known who we were if someone had gotten on our transfer, instead of just handing us a leaflet!
